Suppport Thread for the TND 500, TND 700 or future Rand McNally products.

For those of us running Macs (OSX 10.6.6), are there any system compatibility issues we should be aware of ahead of time before purchasing the 710?

EDIT: It looks like RM has made a work around for the dock for us Mac users so that we can run the updates on the Mac

Hey Mark,

Do you remember that TND 700 you & I exchanged in Statesville, NC a few months back? Well, It began popping up errors on it, something about switching to an odessy memory thing or somthing like that. When it does this, the unit becomes useless untill i turn it back on & reset everything. Works for a few hours, sometimes a day or so, 7 then Bamm, Does it again.

Is there a fix or update to this issue? I've tried emailing & calling Rand & just get the run around.

Just bought the TND710. I kept the other TND as a backup just in case something would go wrong. I am impressed with the new features on the 710 but it says can now do real time traffic via an accessory. Have no idea what the accessory is or how it works as there is nothing on the box or in the guide that explains this. Mark do you know anything about this?

i tried to update my tnd 500 and both my computers tell me i need .NET Framework version 2.0 i have been trying to download all the ones the web gives me but have had no luck. i went to delete the tnd dock in hopes of starting over but ending up deleting all my files on my actual gps .now my gps shows system files missing i need help to restore my gps. i did download the tnd dock off the website but my computer still says i need .NET Framework version 2.0 what do i do? please help. i am also new at this and hopefully put this in the right section i will also email you just in case i didn't do this right thank you

 

Is the problem with some newer laptops (Unknown Device) fixed with the newer 510/710 models?

Because that is the problem I am having, since my old laptop died.

 

Is there an official carry pouch/bag for the TND 700 Ive been using the lil plastic sleeve that came with the original packing but over time it has taken a beating.

Not sure if they have stuff for the 7" units up there yet though.
