The GPS on my Qualcom does the same thing with the I80, not sure why. I just got a 510, first week using it, I went by the scale on I80 near I57 and it did give a notice. The one thing I can't figure out is the warnings on overhead clearance, all I ever get is a notice after I have passed. (1st day I took it in my car around Chicago just to see what it would do)
Other than that, I still have to get use to it. Heading to Newark tomorrow, I am interested in seeing how it does.

Rand McNally offers a suggested retail price. The 510 is $349.99 and the 710 is $449.99. These are suggested prices and any retailer or dealer can set their own pricing.
If you see the price is above suggested retail pricing then look around. Online stores are not the only places the TND's are sold.
Rand McNally does list suggested dealers.

Thanks,

Where did it show you the warning after you passed an overhead clearance?
The TND will usually route you around the restriction and the routing to you may seem odd, but that is the reason. A restriction was on the route.
I will check up on the other issue. I beleive Qualcomm uses NavTeq also so could be in the map data.
Thanks,

Rand cannot control the folks whom sell the TND's, Rand can only suggest a retail price.

markocm1952 Thanks this. -
Thanks Mark I'll try that next time.
Thanks Red -
I'm thinking of buying a 510. Can anyone tell me if it can be switched to car mode, and more importantly, are all map updates free?
I heard free for life and I heard free for 30 days. I can't seem to find the answer on their website.
Thanks in advance. -
Minor annoyance. I -70 through Mo. Exit 41 highway O. Every time I pass that section of road. My unit tells me to exit at that ramp, and then get right back on. This happens every time I pass this section of road, doesn't seem to matter which direction I am traveling either.
Can anybody tell me a better way to set up my truck stats on the 700. Im thinking I need to reduce the weight from 80000 down to a car weight? I have so much trouble with incorrect routing on my 700. Almost any big city USA after leaving shipper/receiver it will take me on a 2-5 miles detour when there is highway ramp just a few hundred yards away from current location.
I am set to: 8 wide, 13 2" and 75000lbs
I guess I should probably start reporting these errors, but my goodness there are so many it would be a full time job. Anyway we could get a screen-shot capture feature to help with reporting these errors?
I update at least a couple times a month.
