I would suggest lowering your weight limit. I dropped mine down to 20000 lbs and havent had any issues.

Hi Mark
I have a TND 710 I absolutely love it, however would love to edit one issue, " driving, on duty, off duty" in Canada we are allow on duty 14 hours, driving 11 hours, with that said yesterday on my trip I kept getting this banner, 'on duty will expired in one hour', by the way I was only on duty for 10 hours, is there a way in preference or route planner for me to adjust those number.
Thanks -
All kidding aside, it does put almost everything/place that I have gone to this week on the wrong side. Just pulled into the Pilot in Newnan GA, exit 41 off I85, same thing, said it was on the left when it was on the right. (hidden by trees so glad I just went right when I heard left)
But I am liking it so far, other than the side of the destination all I have noticed is speed limits being off now and then. Thats no big deal at all.
And Mark, if your not getting paid by RM, you should. Biggest reason I went with the 510 over others is this thread. -
Can you guys imagine a DOT cop sticking his head in your window at the same time your GPS announces your driving day has expired. That's NOT going to have a happy ending.
Eventually its going to happen, Rands gonna get sued and they'll have to add an option to disable that annoying feature. They wont be able to say they hadn't been warned about it!
Couple days ago I was rolling North bound on I-24 and had it route me to the Pilot in Oak Grove Ky. at Exit 89. It wanted to route me to Exit 86 (past the truck stop), have me get back on to the south bound side of I-24 and then re-exit and at exit 89. That would have taken me 3 miles past the truck stop, and I would have ended up running an extra 6 or 7 miles had I not been paying attention.
Obviously I ignored its routing and jumped off at exit 89. My 700 started freaking out, and giving me that red message and yelling at me that I was on a non advised route and shouldn't be on that road. Eventually it got so upset that it cancelled my entire route LOL. I spent the night there, and when I turned it on again the next morning and re entered my route it started freaking out again, so I cancelled the route until I got back on the Interstate.
This GPS would be so much better if it just had a pause feature... I guess the newer ones do? -

RM never implied to anyone that this log feature is an approved electronic HOS device. As long as your logbook or approved electronic logs are up to date, why would there be a problem?
I would think that if, and that's a mighty big if, you received a ticket or got put out of service just because the device spouted off and your approved logs-paper or electronic-were okay-that ticket would be overturned, providing-again, smokey is that dumb to write a ticket for that.
Three truck specific devices have HOS features on them-RM is one of 'em-NONE are certified electronic HOS devices-not a one.

Here we go again.....
From Chicago, IL to Aurora, Co
The device has me routed I55 to I72 to US36 in Mo. Then US36 all the way to almost Denver.
Every single blasted time I run this way with this device-it puts me on US36 and not I70 which puts me out of the way for fueling and such-and this is the fastest preference for routing-this is faster the I70?
There must be some flaw or quirck eithor in the RM overlays or the routing algorythems that cause this to happen every single time.
I have to detoure. It's the only way to get it right on the device.

I guess you've never heard a dirty truck will always be inspected more than a clean truck. This would fall upon those exact same lines... -
As far as your next point, did you not post something about a happy ending because the unit gave an audio alert?
Might be something to your 3rd point-might be. Depends on the defination of dirty now doesn't it. The eye of the beholder and all that.
Again, these devices are not certified electronic logs and I refuse to be paranoid about what some cop thinks about it. If you're that paranoid about being harassed by the law, then don't use the device. Pretty simple.
Off topic a little. I apologize in advance but I needed to reply.
