Mark, I have the TND700 and have noticed the following issues... but don't think that I dislike the unit. I am for the most part really impressed. Here are the issues...

    1. There are addresses that it says does not exist... some places have been there for a while too and yet the gps says it's not in their address book. I have relayed this info to Rand but I don't get back any kind of reply as to what they are doing about it

    2. Still shows the truck speed limit in Illinois as 55... have told them about that as well.

    3. Lag time... for example have passed an exit and 20 seconds later, the gps finally passes it. This could be an issue if looking for your turn in a major metro area like Chicago

    4. In Regina, Saskatchewan there is a bypass around the city that is called the ring road, trucks use it all the time to go towards Alberta, Saskatoon or if going east, towards Winnipeg. I was on it the other day going to an industrial park at the north edge of the city and as I passed an exit it flashed that I was on a restricted road and could not clear the bridges... not one bridge had a clearance less than 14'5... it actually cancelled the route and keep warning me I was on a restricted road.

Hopefully these issues can be addressed

    Thanks,
    Chris

    1. Addresses not found - this is in the mapping database. Rand is testing a newer mapping DataBase. These "missing" addresses should be there, but to be sure if you can E-Mail me the addresses I can have RM check to verify. If they are not in the newer DataBase, then RM will see that it is corrected. Also if you find addresses on the wrong side or anything that is not correct with the address.

    2. Rand is working on getting the correct speed limits updated in the Mapping Database. The Mapping Database shows roads as segments and these segments have to be corrected.

On a note: When you do your TND Dock updates, the mapping Database is not updated. This is a major file and it has to be updated all at the same time. It is about 2.6gb.

    3. Lag time - RM is working on resolving this issue. It is more a firmware issue versus a software issue. RM is testing several firmware updates with their Beta Testers. If you find this to be a major issue all the time E-Mail me with your serial number and in your TND unit under the Navi folder their is a LOGS folder, I would need those files also.

    4. I passed this up to RM. I have not heard back yet on what they have found. If they find errors then they will verify and correct the Mapping Database. Once RM responds to what they find I will post it here also.

As mentioned before, RM tries to respond to all the Tell Rands. If you look under your root directory of your TND you will see a file called NaviInfo. Attach that file to an E-Mail and I will have RM do some research on what you have send in.

If you wish to either E-Mail me or post issues/concerns here, I will forward it up to RM, or if you wish me to find what the status of your Tell Rand's are then I would need the NaviInfo file off of your TND.

    Thanks,
    Mark

Thanks Mark... I'll get back to you as soon as I can... the lag time is not an issue all the time, it just has done it on occasion... also I did an update last night and will see if the addresses are in there or not. If not, I will email you.
