I turn it off at night just so it doesn't illuminate the cab, I like sleeping in the dark, or as dark as I can get it....I update it twice a week...

Best to reboot every two days at a minimum.
Thanks,

I am considering getting a 510 or 710 but if it has to be shut off all the time then I don't think that will work. I am half of a team so the gps is used 24/7. We never shut our gps off unless we are in a motel or at home. Will this gps even be a good match for me?

What about when you drop trailers or in a dock?
Stop to eat?
Stop for showers?
thanks,

From the sounds of it I was thinking it had to be turned off for a significant amount of time. But if it is just a few minutes then yeah I can do that.

Mark,
I bought my TND 700 from TA in mid january and I am frustrated with it because it keeps loosing signal. I am ready to return it if it doesnt have a fix... I love it but i depend on it so it HAS to work. I have updated it and checked for map integrity as well and still shows on the map screen " NO GPS ". I go to Preferences/Device/GPS DATA and it shows anywhere from 10 - 14 Satellites Seen but 0 used. I need a fix on this ASAP, Please Help.
Sincerely, Bulldog_88 -
Thanks

I just bought the RM 710 today. I went to turn it off for a few minutes while I ran in the truckstop. Instead it went to the power off screen with the big red power button on it and froze. I tryed pushing the big red button, holding down the power button on top for 10 secs and 30 secs. I even unplugged it and it is still stuck.

Make sure when you 1st get the TND's you charge for about 2-3 hours before use.
Thanks,
mark -
Yeah we had to push the reset button for it to do anything. How long is it suppose to take to realize you are in a diffent state to change the speed limit on it. We came out of California and 9 miles later in Arizona it was still saying speed limit 55. We got off the interstate for 30 minutes so it recalculated then it was right. But was just wondering how long that usually takes?
