I have a feature request that Ive been meaning to request since the day I purchased and installed my TND700.

Please allow ME to turn the TND DOCK on and off. I don't need it in MY FACE every time my PC boots or reboots. I know its there, and it doesn't need to run upon Windows start up on my PC. When I need it I can find it, and fire it up. That dock is down right annoying.

Working on that.. in the meantime.

Start menu - either in "run" or on Win7 the space (search) type in msconfig.

you will get another window popping up.

Go to Start up tab, then look for tndDock. Unclick that then hit apply and ok.

    Thanks,
    Mark

why is it that when i tell it to "save current location" it does BUT not where i am....?

it just picks someplace near ware i am up to 3 blocks away from ware i am sitting and yes i'm stopped, sitting on the street at the driveway

when i tryed to save this location 1st time it came up with this 39.43.59.66/84.37.51.82 wrong street... 2nd try 39.43.57.47/84.37.15.02 3 blocks down the road..... what it should have saved was 39.44.0.85/84.37.36.98....?

Give me the address where you are trying to save.

Save current address should save current location by lat/long.

    Thanks,
    Mark

536 frizzell ave eaton, oh. that is the driveway i needed to save at
1st time it saved 1075 franklin st. eaton, oh
2dn time it saved 329 frizzell ave. eaton, oh.

it does it all the time. i always stop on the street to save before i turn into the driveway and it will take 2-3 times before i can get it to save the right spot.

saving on the right block is all i need but as you can see from this last time wrong street or 2 blocks past where i need it is not good

over all i like it but some of the things it does i just don't understand

I use fastest but I check the distance against the miles the company gives me, if there's a crazy discrepancy I try shortest. With my current job the dock is often on a different street than the delivery address. I try to cross reference the directions my company gives me with the map on the TND to find the actual delivery address, sometime it works perfectly, other times not so much. I only save a location to my address book once I've been there (that way I can mark where the driveway or dock is).

One thing I have seen is if I back near the road (for instance in a truck stop parking lot or a dock) the GPS will get confused about which way the truck is pointed and will come up with a route to "turn me around". Once i head in the right direction it will usually update to the sane route. Had this happen last night at the BP truckstop at US 31 and 24 in Peru, IN. I was on my way from Sturgis, MI to Terre Haute, IN, with TS as a via. My spot was about 70 feet from the road, I was pointed south but had backed into the spot, so the Rand assumed I was Northbound on US 31 just past the turnoff for the truck stop and routed accordingly. Confused me for a sec or 2 when I looked in the morning and it was showing me going north to go to Terre Haute.

The Lat/Long that the GPS sees does see you going in the other direction.

    Thanks,
    Mark
