I think I am going to sleep during the day and work at night..LOL

Some of the higher end computers,, the power settings are at a lower setting to conserve power... you might try to change to a higher power setting..

BUT,,, several of the brand name computers do not like the TND 700. The TND 500/700 USB ports are made to USB specs. The solution RM has found that will allow the TND to connect is to buy an Powered USB hub. The kind that needs to be plugged into AC.. usually about $25.

I have spend numerous hours on this and the device driver is there in Win 7, but the TND still shows up as an unknown device. The USB Power Hub cures this.

The only reason I can think of is the Powered USB Hub provides a higher voltage\current to the TND than the USB port can provide.

    Thanks,
    Mark

My power settings are all at high power and my old Dell will recognize it but it has so many problems I can't get it to hold onto the wireless signal etc...

I will give the USB hub a try, I use to have one but can't find it now, guess I will have to find a Walmart.

Thanks for the always speedy response mark :biggrin_25514:

What TND you have? T5B, T5C, or the T7C?

    Thanks,
    Mark

That is unusual... The T7C normally has the connection issue on the higher end Laptops.

What model of Laptop do you have that will not see the T5C?

You can also check under your device manager and under disk drives. Your TND should show up as 2- USB drives.

    Thanks,
    Mark

I just purchased TND 700 yesterday and I'm excited so far. I'm amazed how much easier it is to set up a multi-stop route and how many more truck stops it has in its database comparing to T465 I was using 'till now.
I have one question though. It might've been already answered here but I didn't find it.
On T465 it was easy to review the whole multi-stop route and see how many miles to each stop.
I can't find this crucial feature on TND 700. I hope I just can't find it because I can't believe RMN would leave such a basic feature out.
So if someone could point me in the right direction as to where to look, that would be greatly appreciated.
I can see only how many miles to the next stop. I NEED to see how many miles to the EACH stop or AT LEAST how many miles the whole trip.

Oh.... add me to the breadcrumbs pleaders bunch.

To see the entire route is not yet in the TND. Our software engineer is eagerly finding ways to get this into the code. It is on the feature list and RM does know the importance of this feature. SO,,, hopefully it should be on the next version,,, and no I do not know the release date of that...LOL

    thanks,

    Mark,
I got the T5B that Rand replaced my old unit with that you checked and fluffed it works great. Thank you for all your help you were the best rep that I have worked with so far at Rand. The replacement unit arrived in 2 days just like you said it would and everything was ready to go right out of the box with no problems. Such a relief. Thank you again

I have a Up 3400 DVX or something like that. It was one of the first U-Haul laptops to hit the market and I have had no other problems other than a Nvidia display driver. When I first attempted to hook up it would ding after reconnecting the cord and only one device would install. The computer would say device failed to install properly. The next attempt would say device has malfunctioned or unrecognized, GPS never changes display but after first device recognized it will start draw power and charge. It makes no sense at all to me if it is simply 2 USB drives. I might understand more if the problems was with older laptops.

Thanks again for your help and patience.
