    Yes they are, but how many times have you come off a ramp onto a road and you have no idea of the posted speed. It may be a mile or three before you even see a sign.

    Rand Customer support. The number is listed when you boot up your TND. Do not know it offhand...

    thx i can't beleve that big --- stylus realy fell down the defroster vent.....

    I have a 510 with a few issues.

    First the speaker quit working yesterday. If I plug the headphone Jack into my radio it outputs sound that way.

    Second I have to delete the history before I can navigate to a new address. Generally I have to do it after every trip, but sometimes it's two trips, I've reached a Max of three trips before I had to to delete the history.

    Third, every time I plug it into my computer it says to update it, but it always downloads and installs the same update.

    I've had it for 5-6 weeks. Any ideas?

    Does the screen still beep when you press on it or is it completely dead?

    I am understanding that if you have more than two entries in the history file that you are unable to navigate to a New address?

    The Dock says Updates Available? It may not be installing files, but doing a file check. The Dock will download from the server, then the computer (Cache files) will compare to the TND. So each time you start the TND Dock it will do a file compare with the server and then with the TND.

    Completely dead. Last time it worked the sound kind of went static and quit. Tried the reset button.

    Correct. Sometimes just one entry in the history and I have to clear it first.

    It does say updates available.

    You would have to contact Rand Support. Ask for David S. The speaker is gone, but what concerns me is the history file issue. I suspect a corrupted file.

    Dock should be on version 2.0.8. If you send me an E-Mail and on the E-Mail hit the attachment button. Then look on your C:\ for a folder called logs. Attach a couple of the logs so I can see what is going on.

    Problems again with my 710. After my unit quit charging I used the ac plug and ran it off my 2000 watt inverter for a month until my new dc cord came.I also got a flash disk. Once back on the road it wont hold a charge. Battery was shot. Now after a month the screen is bright white without color or depth. All of the graphics are there just very very difficult to see. I must hold it close to my face to make it out. It did this a couple of times about a month ago but turning it off and back on solved it. I have pushed the reset numerous times and flashed it again without success. I will most certainly return it for another but need to buy something new until Rand replaces the piece of junk. After seeing all of the continuing problems with this unit I will purchase something else. I liked the features the Rand buy it just wont stay working. Numerous different problems for me. I got this unit in July of 2011 for almost $500.00.

    Try this. Leave the 710 unplugged for 24 hours, then plug into AC for 3 hours. Press the reset and let the 710 start up. Then turn the 710 off and insert the OS firmware update, turn the 710 on and it will flash the firmware (steps 1-4), reboot, align screen, reboot - when it gets to the accept screen then you may remove the SD Card.

    It sounds like the battery is not fully charged and it is trying to charge the battery and run the HD screen on low internal power.
