That is understandible for sure... Here is the however part:

Technology is a constant work in progress. I am old school as far as my training, as I rely heavily on Qualcomm directions, customer directions, company routing, and a good old fashioned map book.

I started out with other GPS units that were designed for 4-wheelers and it tought me not to rely completely on electronic tools, but if you use common sense, electronic tools, and old school methods combined, it makes the job 100 times less stressful.

I shelled out the dough for this because of word of mouth, and even with the glitches in mind, I will continue to use a truck specific GPS even in my personal vehicle.

The one thing that people don't realize is that truck/rv specific GPS is still in its early years and those who use it are what dictates better quality, more. Accurate, and user friendly equipment for everyoone who uses it.

    Just my 2 cents :biggrin_25520:

On your TND, main screen/preferences/device/GPS Data.

DOP should be less than 1.
Used should be 4 or more.

If you do not have these and you are physically on the road, but the GPS is tracking you in the cow herd, then just wait till the Solar Flares pass.

If you Call Customer Support, nothing they can do short of wrapping a bunch of aluminum foil around the earth for you.

    Thanks,
    Mark

    Hi Mark,

Earlier this week my 7C displayed "system file missing" during start up after previously working fine. Now, trying to connect to the Dock for repair, the unit says it's connected to my computer, but the new version of the dock software shows it's not connected. Any suggestions?

    Thanks much,

    Adam

Because you got a system file missing error the NaviInfo file needed to build could not build. The Dock relies on this file to look for Device ID's and such.

Look at the T7C internally as an External drive and do you see ASCII charactors or english?

    Thanks,
    Mark

I see two files, both ASCII characters.

E-Mail me your name, address (PO Box), phone and serial number off the back.

I will send you an OS Flash to try to fix the firmware,, this may/may not work.

    Thanks,
    Mark

Having problems with my 710 not turning on. It's one of the originals I assume as the version on the back is v0.0! I last ran an update on it in January. I don't know if that updates the firmware version or not.

The battery light turns green, but it won't power on. If unplugged, there is no light and doesn't power up either.

I had a power supply go bad, it shorted out and even blew fuses by itself (without being plugged in the GPS). I used the AC adapter in the truck off the the inverter. Two weeks ago the GPS gave an error message saying it needed to shut down and locked up. I reset it, and it powered down, but would not power up. I read here in an earlier post to leave it unplugged, then charge it up. I did that, it powered up, then lasted about 15 minutes as I drove to the customer site. I got unloaded and was entering a new address, it froze and the address bar turned gray. I powered it off, and now it won't come back on. I was hoping I could hook it to the PC / Dock and try restoring the files, but the PC won't see it.

I bought a new one and noticed the new end on the DC adapter is at a 90 degree angle. That is a nice improvement.

I hope you can help out. Thanks for your time.

How long does it take to receive the free maps? I bought the 710 the first week of Jan. I mailed the information around the 10th of Jan. Thanks.
