I would suggest you go to your control panel and then to programs and features. This should bring you to the "uninstall" window. Scroll down and find the Rand McNally TND Dock and uninstall it.

Also scroll down and under the MicroSoft updates make sure you have .net Framework version 3.5 minimum with SP1.

You can reinstall the Dock from here.

.net Framework

http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?displaylang=en&id=21

Make sure when you install the Dock you have the TND connected and on.

Dock
minimum requirements - .net Framework 3.5 with sp1.

Make sure .net is "on" in services.

Go to Control Panel  Programs  Programs and Features
Click "Turn Windows features on or off"
The feature Microsoft .Net Framework x.x.x should be turned ON. The sub features may be turned OFF.

Thanks,

Thanks for the reply,it's the same as before, the cursor hides within the dock but if I click the cursor on before going on the dock then I can see it, wonder if it has something to do with the high resolution monitor and am I correct that I can't backup or restore or download updates at this time, TND 700. This unit has given me no problems for almost 2 yrs except for speed limits in towns being wrong and addresses not being where they are supposed to be. Is there no way that Rand can give us owners of older models the dashboard feature. Thanks again for your help.:biggrin_25514:

I've noticed this on my TND 510.
Digital Dashboard
The Avg Max Speed is not correct. I've repeatedly noticed this to be in excess of 100 mph. My truck is governed at 73mph. How can the Avg Max speed be 100 mph, when I've never driven anywhere near that fast?

I work with a lot of advanced computer code, de-install / re-install should not be needful but that is often what it takes for these things to work. Correctly you should have a script written by the "support" staff in a deeply trained "team" with how it all works that will run an "installer" that takes care of all these setup "issues".

If it does not work then it is not on you to crawl in front of the customer, but that seems to be the way they usually do it.

I agree, but you can not take into account every PC model and software out there. Sometimes the MSI gets "hung" on a prior install and I have found to just uninstall the old and install the new works the best. I would say this to be only about 1% of the installs. I am here to offer quick solutions while the driver is on the road and if that means remoting into their PC since a lot are not computer savvy then that is something I am glad to do.

Thanks,
Mark

I run 1440x900 on a Toshiba and I see the cursor. What resolution are you running?

Dock should be opening up within the next two weeks for the other models.

Thanks,
Mark
