Mr. Rand McNally, not sure if this has been asked before or not, but where are these units made?

I know a few of you have the new TND-720's now. Can we hear what you think about it and if you like the Wi-Fi feature? Do you feel seeing the weather will help you as you drive each day to see what is ahead of you?

This TND-720 also has the ability to connect a Camera for ease of seeing those blind spots. Mounted on a mirror is one location or on the back of the cab for the flat-bedders to see your load. Has anybody with a TND-720 looked into that feature yet?

    Thanks,
    Mark

I am seriously considering going from my current TND710 to the 720, but I have a few questions about it:

    1) Approximately how much data is consumed by the unit if the weather/wind speed option is left on continuously in a 24 hour period?

    2) Is the data amount the same if you display just weather radar info, just wind speed info, or is the data for both brought in simultaneously and there is no difference?

    3) Does the weather/wind speed info display in all scale modes (as I constantly use auto-scale mode)?

    4) Does the weather/wind info disappear if you lose data connectivity, or will it display a static "last known" image of that information, then update once data is reestablished?

I thank you in advance for your input.

I'm sure Mark will address those questions. I don't think the manual does but it does talk about the weather feature a little bit on page 38 (pdf). Also, there is a video that discusses the wifi function some.

Thank you for the info! Please let me know about the approximate data usage within the one hour timeframe that you stated you would check. Also, it would be interesting to see what the usage is for weather and then for wind in the same timeframe.

One last question. Just for my edification, what is the source of the weather/wind info (NOAA, Weather Channel, AccuWeather, etc.)?

    Again, thank you very much!
