Question on how to disable the timers for logs and the driving session on the 720. Seems this could back fire on someone could get into trouble.

The TND is not an EOBR. An EOBR is required to be tamper proof. You can adjust any of the clocks on the timers.

    The TND-760 is an EOBR.

    T5B/T5C/T5E/510/T7C/T7E/710/720 are not EOBR's.

You can turn off the timers by going to main screen/preferences/Device (720- general)/Update Driver Status - select "Main Menu Buttons".

    Thanks,
    Mark

Thank you I noticed that it was always asking about going into drive line and was keeping track of how much I am driving in hours per day.

In automatic mode it will. But this is a personal Navigation device and not an EOBR.

    Thanks,

Main Menu / Preferences - Change the "Update Driver Status" option so it says "Main Menu Buttons" instead of "Automatic" and it won't try to automatically help with your log hours any more.

It definitely does NOT meet the legal criteria as an EOBR, by a long shot, regardless of what mode you have it in.

I am only kinda reiterating what Mark said because I have been asked that many times.

    Mark Kling Thanks this.

I am updating the 720 as I post this...I am on a landline for data. The dock post 15 min for download times....so far, well over an hour. Normal?

I updated mine with high speed connection and it took about 30 minutes would guess that is about right. Be patient.

Probably a couple of big files in the NaviMaps downloading..

The Dock pings out and will give you an estimate time.

    Thanks,

I was a little surprised....don't remember ever any of my RM devices taking that long to download and install new files. It did get done.

Tell RM's engineers, production staff and whomever else- thanks a lot. Now I have another highly addictive can't do without feature- weather on a GPS. And just when I thought it was safe too. I do wonder ( this is not a criticism in anyway) if it might be posible to add NWS watches and warnings. The top 3 in my opinion are Tornado, T-Storm, and High Wind (high profile and the like). Went over to MyWeather.com where this data is apparently comming from and wasn't sure if they offered that kind of information.
