OMG, you are fast! I was actually editing my post (to add the links) and when I posted it you had already replied. Thanks alot, you understood the exact issue I was curious about. Also I didn't want to bother you with another issue (lol) so thought there must be some driver out there who has already tried that. Thanks again!

Currently if you have to connect to a browser to log in, then no you will not be able to use that connection. Currently if it is an unsecure Hotspot or one that requires a passkey without a browser then it will work.

I have heard Starbucks and McD has worked.

As far as this being in the future, I have asked and I am waiting on an answer.

    Thanks,
    Mark

No matter how many times people say the 710 is problematic I havent had any issues with it... Its gotten me precisely to all my destinations... No problems Im in SanduskyvOhio from Laredo to Sandusky door to door...

I will try to explain further. When I was at the Petro in Atlanta (sorry I missed the other fellow Rand user), the 720 was not showing any traffic data for the area. I went into Preferences, General, Traffic Receiver Status and it showed Disconnected or Not Powered. I reset the device and disconnected and reconnected all cabling and power, then went back to see the status and it showed it working. Then about 15 min later it stopped showing traffic data and said Disconnected or Not Powered. I was still parked at the Petro and had not moved. For troubleshooting, I reconnected the 710 to power and Traffic Receiver and it worked normally. Waited 30 min to see if it would happen again, but all was good. Reconnected 720, and issue returned. So it seems that it is an issue with the 720 and Traffic Receiver and not just the receiver.

    Hope this helps.

ADDENDUM: Found the issue. There was a kink in the receiver attenna wire causing the issue. Now resolved. :p

Is there a way to have the MM show up when doing a search along the route you are traveling when looking for rest areas or weight stations? This would make it a lot easier to find out how far it is so can determine if they are in range. All I can it to show me is what it is by the crow flying. Have been used to this on my other GPS but haven't figured out how to do it on the 720. Only way have been able to get it is to run the route and see where it is.

    Eakabunny-

Traffic issues may have nothing at all to do with device- be aware. I have sort of unofficially been looking at this since it dovetails with my eves dropping obsessions ( and being a ham). Not to get too technical but the broadcast radius may or may not be what Navteq says it is. A lot of factors goes into that and I touched on them in my blog on the site here. Bottom line is though, you may lose traffic reception through no fault of the device. Still educating myself on Broadcast Radio Data System which what this is, but I think I have a good basic understanding.

Yes, these are the kind of really super important things that I spend my free time on.

Good Idea... Usually I recommend to add 15% to the mileage to get you in the ballpark.

    Thanks,

I also found http://www.connectify.me/, but atlas,, my Wi-Fi adapter is beyond hope for either way...I would have to buy the Intel 6300 to use either...

    http://support.connectify.me/entries/20316736-is-my-wi-fi-card-supported

But it seems like either way would work..

    Thanks, for this.
