I am coming up with a new way to allow the Non-PC users to get their updates. It will be accross the Web. I will have a WWAN (World Wide Area Network) based hard drive available 24/7/365. I will assign a generic E-Mail address and password to the folders and all you need do is down load the Flash and following the instructions.

I am on a 18mb modem here on my end.

I will post weekly new RM\Data folders to allow you to get POI's, POI Global ratings, and construction updates.

All that you will need is a 1gb or 2gb SD card for the T5B or T5C and a 1gb or 2gb Micro SD card for the T7C. Your Cell phone microcard will not work.

these type of Micro cards for cell phones cannot be read by an external SD card reader.

If you do not have a SD slot on your computer, then you can buy for about $10 a SD slot to USB port adapter.

This should be in place by end of month. I am waiting on the item I ordered.

    Thanks,
    Mark

Is there anyway to have the TND 700 set so that it will route me around propane restricted tunnels?

    Mark,

About the only you have listed here that is really needed is the total trip-miles and stops. Speed limit signs, downgrades etc have already been thoughtfully provided by your friendly state goverment. It's un-needed eye candy IMHO. How much of a hit does the processer take on refresh times with all these extras needing to be displayed?

Oh, yeah the the wash poi would be nice. I've havn't seen this on any other device with the exception of a custom poi file.

Not always. Many state highways have no curve warnings at all and the ones they do have are too close to the curve, especially at night. I love the curve warnings on the 465t. They're far from perfect but just the little ding it gives helps out a lot.

As far as speed limits, warnings for a speed drop within the next mile or so, like those little towns that drop the speed from 55 to 30 with no warning signs would be nice.

Also, the multistop via points they have now are just that. They are nice but they are for a multi stop trip. It asks at each point and won't do anything until you tell it. That's fine for multi stop but for real via point routing, that has to be transparent. You set the points and they clear automatically without your interference. That would do what it's meant to do, keep you on the route that you set up beforehand. I wouldn't change the current via system, because it does work right, but a third option with real via point routing would be nice.

I had an error while on I75 south where the TND had my routing correct onto the 285 east. BUT! when the time came to make my exit, it audibly and visually told me to take the west exit. But as soon as I took the correct exit it continued my route as if nothing was wrong (No recalculating message).

I know this has been mentioned but the TND rarely knows how close you are to a ramp when you are at a truck stop. Again the TND wanted me to go out of my way on a side road instead of just putting me back onto the I-75 south as it had routed me. The exit was less than half a mile away.

Also a side note, the I75 sign on the GPS was drawn on the side road while it obviously was not the I75.

I know the road signs on the gps don't always line up with the correct road, but in a case where a driver doesn't know the roads, it could be a problem.

There's a spot in Missouri east of DeWitt where the river loops north along the highway and the TND swears that the river is US24. Never tried to turn me into the river though.

I am a little confused here. I did say stops, not vias or waypoints. I think that there should be a preview mode where the entire trip-stops and vias( waypoints) should be indicated along with the total milage. And you are right, vias should be handled differently then stops as vias are not stops, just a method for customizing a route. Once accepted, the route would only show actual stops and not vias. So I think we agree. Pretty sure anyway.
