Sprint Overdrive Pro. If you have a 720 and are using this Mi-Fi contact myself or Rand Support. You will have to change you security encryption on your Mi-Fi via the manager. The Sprint Overdrive pushes one encryption and the TND-720 requires a set encryption.
Thanks,
Mark

I have the Rand McNally GPS, and I must say, I absolutely love it! I have the 5inch screen, and it has definitely paid for itself in the long run. I would highly recommend anyone getting one of these. It is detailed, and you can switch vehicles from truck to car. A good invention in my opinion. The inventor of this product did their homework on this one.Mark Kling Thanks this. -
We have a 710 Rand McNally. The charger seems to be having problems. I was wondering if the Rand McNally universal charger will work with the 710 or do we have to get the same charger that comes with it. We've had it for 6 months and the charger is the only thing that disappointed us.

Actually it's the end that plugs into the cig. lighter this time. We got it working for now but wanted to know if the universal one would work for back up. We would like to be prepared.

Or is the issue different?
Thanks,
Mark -
I had to return my 710 because it stopped turning on. They sent a replacement unit. It always puts me in Indiana. Im in Virginia and it has me in Indiana. Any suggestions?

On the TND 710, how come the mile markers do not work on I94 in Indiana, and on the Indiana Turnpike I80/I90 up until about mm 95 then they work all the way to Ohio?

The end actually fell apart. assembled with super glue now it is working. The strangest thing I've seen with it. We baby it too. No mistreatment with a high price device. So again I ask will the Rand McNally universal work with the 710 or do I need to purchase the one that comes with it? Really just want a back up for now. I can't see spending $20. if I only have to spend $15. I'm thrifty that way.

Just took my new 720&Samantha-lol, for a trip to LA and back.I'm very impressed,GOOD JOB RAND. However there were a few kinks in the system re: speed limits and routing onto truck restricted roads but the Tell Rand function was easy to use and hope these errors will be rectified in the future.
Now for my main beefs.
The internal speaker on my unit is CRAP, its distorted and tinny could hardly make out the instructions, seems as the audio program was overpowering it. On the second day the audio actually quit working but came back after a reset. At the next truck stop I bought a set of external self powered speakers called Tweakers, set them up.velcroed them to the dash and they much improved the sound. My 700 has a great speaker and never needed external ones.Maybe I just got a bad one,if rand could send me another speaker I could prob change it out myself.
Now for my main problem, "Speed Warning Function",was present on my 700 also and I hoped they fixed this on the new one, but notso.
This only is a problem in States that have seperate speed limits for cars and trucks like WA,OR,CA. As I do a lot of work in these 3 states I would much appreciate a fix for this. WA. trucks max 60 cars higher. OR. CA. trucks 55 cars up to 70mph.
On the Interstates you get the orange truck icon and if you go faster than your set speed the ball turns red BUT NO AUDIO WARNING. On any other highway you get no speed warning whatsoever as you have to go over the car speed limit to get any warning at all.
In towns and cities the speed warning works as it should as the speed limits there are the same for car and truck. For a TRUCK GPS, this is a terrible way to do things.
A simple sullution would be for a seperate function whereby you can put in your own speed limit warning and get both voice and visual if you go over that so you could use that function on any road or highway where you don't get the orange truck speed icon. At the least you should get an audio warning everytime the ball turns red.
This issue is important to me and have told Rand several times through Tell Rand on the dock but to no avail. Is this important, you be the judge, one of my Co-drivers was stopped on I-5 in CA.at 62mph, truck limit 55mph,car 70mph. Cost him $450.00 fine.
So anyone going into CA be aware, big speed fines as they are broke and need the $$$$$$$, and who are the easiest to target,Truckers.
Hope this doesn't fall on deaf ears.
Thanks
John
