Yeah I've seen that. Not a Rand issue anyway. That overlay just seems oh I dunno, redundant maybe? You drove. If you saw a weather radar shot of a blob of light blue- snow- over I40 say, wouldn't that indicate a potential hazardous situation on the road? Looking forward to your "results" today. Looks like sunny and hot for most of my run.

It tells you of any alerts such as high winds, etc, etc. If you have the map set to weather you would not see the high winds.

    Thanks,

That's assuming it gives the weather for your location. Comming onto Denver yesterday on I70 eb just west of lakewood, Co. I received the weather for Broomfield, Co which is what some 20 miles northeast as the crow flies. Kind of interesting since the Denver metro area was a whole lot closer- Golden and Lakewood closer still. I don't think this is an RM issue but it needs to be noted.

Note about the Traffic Impact overlay- today 'bout mm344 I70 eb in Kansas. Showed yellow. No precip and no wind or other weather, dry roadway. So curious it would indicate what I expect is moderate traffic impact. However, the current precip overlay was spot on with spotty showers in the Kansas City area- traffic impact displayed no impact.

I don't think you will get accurate weather information all the time for your present location, if you use your cell phone as wifi hotspot your signal may have been bounced to who knows where and that would be the location MyWeather uses to tell you the conditions at that spot, if they have a polling station there. I don't think they have polling stations in every town as when I use the feature at home with my internet I get information from a town 65 miles away from me which is on the other side of a mountain pass and this is useless to me unless I have to go in that direction but will give me an idea of what's going on in my general area, don't think there is any way of changing this aspect of the unit.

    Did not forget about you...

If you are looking at the 3-day forecast screen, I have not gotten confirmation yet, but I believe this is going to be based upon what tower you are hitting at the time.

As far as traffic impact, this would probably be old data that has not been updated yet.

Don't quote me on the 3-day forecast yet.. waiting for the rest of the folks I asked to get back with me.

    Thanks,
    Mark

Well I'm going to have to get another RMA. I turned off the device last night and now it won't power back up. This is getting old. I paid $400 for this thing in December and for the last 3 months I haven't been able to use it. I'm getting more use from a $100 Garmin.

Leave if off for 12 hours, charge on AC for 3 hours, then turn on, once on accept screen press the reset button.

    Thanks,

I believe you are absolutely correct regarding the nearest reporting stations. It does make a difference what data the provider has access to as well and what sort of database it's based on.

Using cell phone tower location instead of 720 location? No comment.

I do have a feature request in regard to the overlays. I think, as you know, that they need to be refreshed more often. How hard to add a manual refresh button or a user selectable refresh rate?

Hit rain on I64 today from Lexington to the WV line. Now the precip overlay wasn't real accurate but I think it is because in the time it took to refresh, either I or the weather moved.
