Routes do not change based upon time of day or traffic. Unless you have a traffice receiver and set it as such.
As explained many times, roads are build into segments in the map database. Each segment is giving a "cost". Based upon the "cost" factor will determine how it will route you ... If a road has "cost" of "0" then you will not be routed upon it.
Routing issues via the Tell Rand are looked at verified as if to a valid route error or not. If a valid route error then it is submitted to NavTeq. NavTeq will then verify again. This takes time and could take up to a year to find it's way into the map database as corrected.
Roads you may seem "valid" for routing may not be. A road that is Non-STAA may be traveled by trucks running 53'/102" trailers. Is this legal? Unless it is for delivery and not a through route you should not be on it. These Non-STAA roads are not marked or posted. A road may have a non-posted weight restriction and you will see 80k trucks on it, when in fact it may be restriced to 75k.
Just because a truck is on a road, does not mean it is a truck legal road.
"Blatant" errors - please give me some examples?
Rand works hard to keep validate any route issues that are reported. But, updating maps takes time. Rand does run it's own DB for truck restrictions, but this is tied to the maps when they are updated.

mark

Just stopped work as I was driving down the street, wont turn on now.......is there anything I can do with out sending it in? I dont have time to wait to get it back.

I've had problems with my charging connector. Vibration seems to make it 'loose' and not connect reliably. Try a different USB cable to charge it. Wiggle it around until the charging LED comes on. It's probably dead, and that's why it won't come on.

that light stays on, its green most the time so its getting a charge. it wont go into the doc mode when i plug it in to my pc either......could a fuse or something have came loose on the inside?
-
I am asking the Mod's to move this to the support thread...
If you are having an issue with your 710 not showing connected to the computer it might be a loose USB connector..
How long ago did you buy it?
Thanks,
mark -
it should still be under warranty, the issue im having isnt the pc connection its the unit not powering on. I was just saying it doesnt power on when hooked to the pc either. I can hold the power button down for 10 min nothing happens.

NYC does have restrictions in place that are not posted.
http://www.nyc.gov/html/dot/html/motorist/sizewt.shtml
Trucks with 53-foot trailers may only travel on the portions of I-95, I-695,
I-295, and I-495 that cross the city between the Bronx-Westchester County line
and Queens-Nassau County line. 53-foot trailers carrying non-divisible loads
must apply for a permit.
GWB is not a blatant error. The map data does not allow for upper/lower level segregation. One level is restricted and this carries over to both levels.
Thanks,

Hi Mark I have a question. I just purchased the lifetime maps for my 510 and I must say they were well worth the money and seem to be the best yet but my question is how do I turn off the duty status. I have it set to manual and I leave it off duty but it still blurts out end of on duty day. What am I missing? Thanks

Thanks,
