Mark,
Thanks for taking the time to reply. I ordered my TND700 and recieved it today. All the connections and updates went smoothly and it will be ready for a test run when next week...

mark any answer about unit not filtering truck stops on my route

How should I insert directions from a shipper/cons destination if they are different from the TND directions?
American-Trucker Thanks this. -
Let me rephrase that. If I want to insert directions, such as the last legs to a destination. Can I somehow over ride the TND directions for that part of the trip?

Well I finally broke down and bought my TND700 while home this past week. Now I'm just playing with it as I learn it's functions.
I have a question tho...
Once I've planned a trip with it's stops, is there a way I can review it in case I want to change a road or something?
I'd like to be able to plan a trip and figure my stops according to mileage. I'm stumpped.
As an example, I'm presently running a load from Boise ID to Buffalo NY. I'd like to figure out where I'd be at 550 miles so I can plan my stop for the night. Then the same for the next day and the next. I've tried looking at POIs along the route, but it seems to stop at around 470 miles out. and forget the next day.
How do I plan a multi stop over several days and not lose the data at the end of each day?

Thanks,

As to why it is stopping at 470 miles, I will have to test that... Make sure you do not see a red dot on the "along route" icon. A red dot means it is still searching.
Enter in your Point A to B. Begin the route. On the map screen go to the bottom right and click on the main screen button. Go to choice destinations\multi-stops. You will see a "current trip" folder. You can add\move\delete locations\stops using this folder. Once you enter another location, add that as a "VIA". The "current trip" folder is like a one time shot. Once you arrive at a location in your "current trip" folder, the location goes away. Think of this folder as a one time deal for the route you are on.
To make multi-stops more permanent, just add a new folder. Then begin that multi-stop, but adjust in the "Current trip" folder.
I hope I answered your questions..
Thanks,

I sent the following message to RM in hopes that they look into some of my experience. I like their products but they need input to get the bugs worked out and to extend/improve coverage for OS 1573 and future iterations:
I had a delivery in Thornburg, VA today. Thornburg is right off of I-95 ~40 miles south of DC. The town was not recognized or were many of the other towns in that area (off of I-95) that I tried. The closest town I could locate was Ashland. Also when I plotted a return trip back to New Jersey it tried to route me 8 miles from I-95 to get back. Once I got close to 95 it (TND 500) recalculated and put me on track.
On another note. I needed to go to 1000 Industry Rd. in Morehead, Kentucky. Instead of routing me directly on I-64 to X133 it took me off of I-64 a few miles prior to X133 and drove me around the really back sideon KY-801. Once I got back to I-64, still on KY-801 the TND 700 I was using did not recognize that there was an entrance or exit to I-64. I don't think it saw X133 at all.
While I'm on a roll I tried to route from Cranford NJ to Fairlawn NJ yesterday vie route 1/9. The TND-500 took me past the Turnpike entrance and placed me at a circle to turn around and double back 3 miles, turn around, come back 3 miles and try for the Turnpike again. This time I knew to get on earlier than shown.
My TND 700 will be sent back to you with a broken power button as soon as I can get home and pick up my mail. I sprung for a TND 500 after a week of driving around the deep south with Qualcom directions and a RM atlas.
I like them both very much, but as with all technology, there is always room for improvement/updates. Please take my input and implement it into your updates.
I check for updates every day and seem to find new ones every few days. That attention to improvement/updates is what caused me to buy the first unit as well as the second unit as a back-up. It is also a strong point for you versus your competition.Mark Kling Thanks this.
