When my TND 720 is connected to internet with radar map overlay it becomes very slow or unresponsive for long periods. This is for zoom in or out or all touch screen controls, I was wandering if others have this issue or is it a problem with this specific unit.

How do the screens react when you don't have the weather overlay running? This is a first I have heard of this.

Another mention here. How often do you turn the 720 off/on? It should be turned off about every 2-3 days to clear any memory. Just turn it off and then back on.

    Thanks,
    Mark

    Getting some really screw routing.
Picked up in Garden City/Holcomb Ks, going to Laredo.

    Ran US83 down to US287.
I just stopped in Harrold Tx at the little 711.

It reaaallly wants me to take US183.

    So FM1763/US183/US283/US180/US283/US190/US87/I10E/I410 to I35S

Just checked it's set to Fastest Route.
Shortest seems to give me roughly the same Result.
Seems to me, run 287 to 35W to 35.
    TND720 says 517ml
Google Maps says 570ml going thru Dallas Austin and San Antonio.

I highly doubt the other way is faster.

Set to allow freeways or prefer?

That route is not bad at night...

    Thanks,
    Mark

Freeways was set to Allow, didn't realize there was a Prefer.
Changed it and Prefer sends me I44 to OKC then 35 from there.

But if you say that's not a bad route anyway, I will take your word for it. Seemes screwy to me, esp if it's only saving 60 miles.:biggrin_25525:

Might be in regard to the radar picture refreshing. It can take a few seconds to refresh depending on the zoom level selected. More map means a larger radar overlay which means more time to calculate and refresh the image. Kind've how I read the comment. Excuse please if outta line.

My 720 has been working perfectly for several days plugged into the USB. I guess I got lucky (I turn it off at night too). I'll be using it for awhile this way because I rarely get home to get any parcels. Thanks for your responses and I still rely on the 720 every day and love it. I can't imagine being without it.
