So maybe the best way to prevent the "sleep disorder" on the traffic receiver is to only use it periodically and shut it off when done with it?

Unplugging and plugging in when driving can be dangerous.

OK...I finally get it. I went back and searched the term "traffic receiver" in this thread and educated myself on the issue. I am just getting onto this particular thread since I just bought the 720 and will get it when I get home today. I was looking at the traffic receiver as a cool option and noted that this issue has been pointed out now for about 6 months with the acknowlegdement that RM knows and is working on a solution...hence the shift to internet based traffic. Sounds like the receiver is going the way of the Do Do bird.

Today Apr 5, My Rand is off course by about a 1/4 mile I called one of our other drivers, and so is his, and he is 400 miles away from me. Any ideas?
