So the Speaker in my unit quit working sometime in April or March.
I got the RMA info, just never sent the unit off. (TND 720).

Today for no reason the Speaker started working again.
I was parked while entering a Dest.

Might just switch it to Male Voice prolly less temperamental that way.

My TND 510 will not power-off. I press and hold the power button, but it will not shut down. I've had it for about 1.5 yrs, so it's no longer in warranty. How can I get it to shut off, AND once I do, how will I get it to power on?

It works ok, just will not power off now. I pulled it out of the 510 carry case just a little while ago, and done an update and backup. Now it will not shut down. The power button seems to be stuck down, it's below the case surface.

Tried several things to no avail, it's heading to the trash soon...

May stop working again. Need to use the warranty before it runs out.

If you can take a sharp object and pop the orange button up on the back side between the case and Orange button.

    Thanks,
    Mark

    Mark,
I and my wife tried that, but to no avail, anyway the 510 is now navigating for my trash can, since my wife cracked the screen.

So I went to a t/s and purchased the TND 520, and that leads me to some new questions..
    1. Will I be able to get my addresses from my PC (Just backed them up), from my 510, into my new 520?
    2. I purchased the Lifetime maps when I had my 510, and never ever received any. Can I somehow transfer this to the new 520?

Just a couple of quick observations..
The USB power socket for the 520 being on the back is poor design, along with the mounting bracket. I much prefer the one that came with the 510. It has a small platform along with the snap at the top center that I feel holds the unit more securely.

The power cord is the old straight USB plug, I have, which I purchased from Rand, the newer 90 deg USB plug. Why can't they leave the good things alone????

Well my 720 is 6 months old and on my 4th DC cord. Yep if RM had a good cord to begin with, profit must be the reason for the new one. Not saying I've paid for any of them but it is a major letdown not being able to use a $400 GPS because of a shi**y cord . Heck the 3rd one they sent was bad out of the package. There goes another of couple of days with no return of investment.

The DC end or the USB end? If the USB end then take the slack up on the cord by wrapping it around the bracket.

    Thanks,
    Mark

Contact me in regards to the 510.

The address book is in the Navi/User/Addressbook/ folder File is (addrbook.db). You can just move it over to the 520.

LTM's are not transferable between TND's.

I was able to use the restore on the dock to get all my data into the new unit. Also RM apparently included a subscription to LTM with the 520, so I'm good on that too.

Don't worry about the 510, it's in the trash, since wife cracked the screen.

DC end melted and shorted out. Next to last no good out of pack. Tried some different ones as suggested by R M but didn't work right. Freeze ups and reboots. Bought a Garmin cord and have not problems in last 2 weeks. RM might need to look into their cords.
