Pick a location, you should be on the screen to "begin new route", look to the right.

Yes the dirt road warning will only happen while driving.

No, I do not have any of them turned on. The Pushpins, I have 0, zilch, Custom POIs. These also seem to be occurring while driving. Sitting at home, running routes on the TND, they're not appearing, unless I set them to ON in the Preferences. I always have them set to off.

My 520 seems horribly confused with regards to routing. On a 120 mile 2-interstate route, "fastest" routing detoured an extra 40 miles around a section of interstate using 2-lane highways with stop signs & stop lights. "Shortest route" displayed the correct route (Again a super simple route in which I added a truckstop waypoint: 118 miles south on i5, 2 miles west on i80). In fact it always seems to try and get me to take highway 99 from sacramento to red bluff, ca instead of I5. It may be 1 mile shorter, but there are at least 2 dozen stoplights & a handful of 35 & 45mph zones...

A previous trial from chemult, OR to Tacoma, Wa said the "shortest" route was an extra 45 miles than the "fastest" route.

Interstates, tollways, etc are allowed in the settings. Map update was 1-week old on the chemult route, and 12 hours old on the other.

The start stop location does not matter. It will not give me any fuel prices when I click on fuel prices and my route. For instance, San Antonio TX to Slidell LA. Gave me one fuel price 3 miles away. I clicked my route, after already setting the route on the GPS side and it said none could be found. There's like 20+.

Do you have any Custom POI's? You can find this under Preferences/My custom POI's/manage custom POIS.

    Thanks,
    Mark

Freeways - Prefer - will tend to stay on "I" routes.
Allow - will tend to stay on secondary roads (US routes).

    Thanks,

In order to duplicate I do need your start/stop locations to verify what you are seeing.

    Thanks,
    Mark

Filter under fuel tab - all are checked or only a certain few?
Filter under fuel tab - reg/mid/prem/diesel?

When I checked this route with Diesel selected and all checked I see four.

FYI- The search only goes "X" distance not the entire 555 miles.

    Thanks,
    Mark

How far is "x"? I bought this GPS to help with fuel routing. If it only scouts to 100 miles or less it makes it a less than effective tool for my needs.
