Thanks for the Gimp pointer. Mine hasn't worked right since the latest update, and it also wasn't compatible with my UFRaw plugin (the main reason that I use GIMP). Uninstalling it seems to have resolved the issue.

    Mark Kling Thanks this.

Funny thing is that the Dock software didn't stop working until months after I upgraded the GIMP software...

Thanks for the tips. I changed the cable, USB ports, turned off my firewall and anti-virus. Don't know which one did the trick, I finally got it connected and I thought I was in the clear, then right at the very end, I got another error and had to abort the set-up. This one said the "RNDSet Language" has stopped working and to look online for a solution. I read the error properties and it said the crash reason was " RNDSet Language.exe". So, that's my latest snag. I could use some more advice as I've never ran into this one. Thanks in advance, G

Have you tried just downloading and installing the dock from the Rand website and then hooking up the gps and see if it connects?http://www.randmcnally.com/support/s/dock-software/truck-gps

    Mark,
Been trying to use the 8hr timer on my 520. It seems that they have tied to the driving time, so much so that it appears to be just another 11 hr timer, just set to start counting down from 8 not 11. What I'm seeing is that every time I stop driving, and go to on-duty, it stops the 8 hr clock too. I don't think this is the correct way it should work. The mandated 30 min break is based on your working day, once you start you have 8 hrs to take that break. So stopping to unload/load or whatever should not stop this 8 hr timer, until such time you go off-duty for whatever reason. Am I not understanding this correctly?

February, I had an update install via RM dock. that was corrupting my OS and Dock. I had to use Wise uninstaller because the resident uninstalled saw nothing. Then I had to fix the registry with wise registry cleaner.

I know or was RM dock as I fixed or, reinstalled the dock and it would corrupt again. I finally gave up and tried again this past weekend. Finally had no issues updating.

You might have to uninstall the Dock, clear the registries of any "RNDD" entries, reboot the computer and then reinstall the Dock.

    Thanks,
    Mark
