Salt Lake City, UT to Sparks, NV

    U-turns avoid
    Ferries avoid
    Cross Country Allow
    Dirt roads avoid
    Tunnels avoid
    Tollways allow

    Prefer - shortest/fastest - 516 miles
    Allow - shortest/fastest - 516 miles

    Change Tollways to Avoid

    Prefer - shortest/fastest - 1209 miles
    Allow - shortest/fastest - 557 miles

Put in Salt Lake City, UT as the Origin and then route to Sparks, NV. Go to Map screen, bottom left, tap on Cog. Go to Avoid List. See if any segments are avoided. IF so, clear out that avoid.

Ontario, CA - East or West TA? What is starting location? I tried both coming from OR and I don't see the past exit routing. Ck for any avoids also.

    Thanks,
    Mark

My 710 keeps giving me an "navi.exe error and must shut down" error. I've tried to run the diagnostic from the dock but it never completes. How can I fix this issue?

Im having major charging problems with my two TND720's. Over a year ago I bought my first 720 and after two months the unit stopped charging with the supplied 12 volt vehicle adaptor while I was driving over the road. Since I rely on this GPS, I stopped by a Best Buy store and bough another charging adaptor. After two weeks of using that adaptor the units screen went various colors and unit emitted a constant high pitched squeel. I noticed that the units case was at a higher than normal temperature. Once again on route with hot trieght in a strange area, I stopped byand bought another TND 720 GPS at a cost of $399.00. I used the second unit for two weeks before The unit stopped charging on the factory supplied 12 volt adaptor. I exchanged the second unit for a brand new one since I was able to, since it was before the 30 day return expiration policy at the store. Now on my third unit after three months of use, the unit again stopped charging on the factory 12 volt cable adaptor. From what I have experienced, Im assuming that the factory supplied 12 volt adaptor cables are very weak, poor quality or there is a bad batch out there. My question is, I have paid 798 dollars for two TND 420's and I have went through 3 factory 12 volt cables. I am currently using an aftermarket charging cable to power my unit. How do I get Rand McNally to supply me with some more 12 volt cables? I dont want to use the aftermarket chargers, since I fear they might allow for over charging the unit and damage it, like the first one did.

If you are computer savvy I can give you the path to a folder on your C:\ that you will need to delete and then try to update.

    Thanks,
    Mark

Chances are the ones you bought were not rated for the 720. 2A@5vdc. Have you contacted Rand Support yet in regards to the DC cords?

    Thanks,
    Mark

Is it constant or comes and goes? I've been having issues with mine losing the gps signal at times. Usually its over cast but not always. I'm not sure the issue. Maybe sunspots with the overcast. I do notice my peoplenet elog usually loses signsl around the same time. I hardly ever had this happen with my 510. But I went to the 720 back in the spring and sunspots effects are worse if its summer when they are bad. I believe we are in the worst of the 11yr sunspot storm cycle but I have not checked in a while.

Mark have you heard about this being sn issue? I cant blame the 720 since my peoplenet goes down at the same time. Its either sunspots, satellite issues or weak gps signal recievers in both gps units.

When this happens - Preferences/general/GPS status. Bottom right. What is Used/Seen?

Also look around your dash,,, any dash cams, FM transmitters (such as for radio's), CB closeness. Have you tried to move the TND around?

    Thanks,
    Mark
