    I apologize if this topic has already been covered, I tried using search but had no results. My charging cord seems to have a short and keeps blowing fuses. Can I use any mini usb charger or will I have to get a replacement charger from Rand? I am on the road for a couple of weeks and would like to be able to use it. it is the 720 TND

    The cord for my 510 did the same thing, I just went into a truck stop and bought one with the correct end on it, it worked fine.

    5" = 5vdc/1amp
    7" = 5vdc/2amp

    The 1amp will work on a 7", but within a few hours you may see the screen go blank/black/freeze due to lack of current via the connector.

    If you do find one, be sure it has 5 pins on the USB end.

    You should call RM support and get a replacement cable.

    Hi guys,

    I have a 510 and I purchased the lifetime map option a few weeks ago. After I downloaded the huge latest map update, the unit now freezes after it speaks, like when it tells you that an exit is coming up. After it talks, the little speaker icon stays on and the whole unit freezes for anywhere from a few seconds to 2 or 3 minutes. its getting real annoying and making me miss exits. I have been on the phone with tech support, and they didn't have a clue. They connected to my unit via the docking software and grabbed a bunch of error logs and said they would submit them to the engineers. I have called them back and no progress. This has to be a software problem, because it didn't do this before the $90 update. Any ideas? Im about to throw this thing in the trash and go buy a Garmin.

    Sounds to me like you got a corrupted map file during the download. Don't do the Tools -D/R since the map files are downloaded to your computer first then pushed to the TND. You would need to get a clean copy of the maps.

    If you are on home time and have a high speed connection I can push the new maps to you again. You would also have to clean out the Cache folder and get a fresh download of files.

    If you wish, I use Teamviewer and I can remote into your computer and push the maps to you and clean out the Cache folder.

    Hey Mark, I turned my 510 on last night, it seems to be working again, I never did crack the screen on it, it just went all goofy. This is in response to the PM's the other night.
