I don't know why you can't simply put in a "maximum highway speed" under truck profile and the software will use that speed anytime the speed limit (that's available) exceeds the set max profile speed when determining ETA. It's goofy to have a 65 MPH truck, and intelligent software, that assumes every truck can/will run 75 or 80 between Kerrville, TX and Belen, TX

Most drivers run the same speed on the interstate or any other controlled access, divided 4 lane, regardless of the speed limit (up to the speed limit), for a number of reasons

Thanks Mark, but I returned it and got the Garmin Dezl 760 instead. And so far so good.

Your Baseline ETA will be based upon posted speed limits. Once you start to roll it will know what speed you are doing in relationship to time and the ETA will adjust.

Anytime you have issues with "odd" routing, I will need the two files Navi/User/user.ini and RM/User/Avoidedsegment.db. With these two files I can duplicate your TND. Also what model you are on (serial # off back). I am using the latest Maps files.

If you are not on the latest or the last set of map files, then issues in the prior Map DB might be causing issues.

Again, I am here to help. If you buy a TND and only use it a week, you really have not learned all of it's features and what the TND can do.

    Thanks,
    Mark

I very much appreciate the help you have given me on this so far. I know what you are saying about only using it a week, but I only have 15 days to try it out. If it wasn't for these extra days on the road I would have already returned it. With your helpful suggestions I just might decide to keep it over the next 3 days.

The biggest advice I give anyone... on the Map screen, buttons under buttons. Touch all the icons on that page and see what is under them.

You can also download the Manual via the Dock or here.

    http://www.randmcnally.com/support/documents/truck-gps

They are PDF's so you download them and save them to your computer. As with any PDF, CTRL F will allow you to search on keywords.

Don't be afraid to ask questions on how to do anything with the TND. I will provide clear concise instructions.

    Thanks,
    Mark

I264 exit 5 in Louisville KY seems to have an erronious restriction under the 264 overpass (it wanted to route me on a 3-mile detour to get to the other side)

Already has been reported. Should be corrected in next Map Update. (Next Year).

    Thanks,
    Mark

Adjusted ETA settings today and it was much more accurate. I actually gained a few minutes in 150 miles which is better than losing them at a rate of about 1 every 10 minutes.
