    Just a word of caution for everyone.
    My last trip home from CA I hit a real harsh dip in the road,while the unit was calculating,and Navi exe crashed hard. From that point on the unit would not navigate at all but everything else seemed to work so could still use it as speedo and keep track of my hrs worked,via dashboard. I had always thought that being an electronic unit that shocks wouldn't affect it but obviously under certain conditions it will.As I didn't bring my lappy I couldn't fix this until I got home, good thing I didn't need to go someplace where I had never been before as this would have been a royal pain. Shows how dependent we become on our gadgets.
    When I got home and hooked up to dock it found 24 scrambled files and fixed them,darn good system.
    So Be careful out there so your gps's brains don't get scrambled LOL.

    Well I have a 720, and the screen just went white, hooked it up to the dock for trouble shooting found nothing, hit the reset nothing. It is about 10 mths old bought it new threw amazon, have to wait until I get home this week end to get the receipt out the computer at home, tried getting a RMA online could not get one, have to wait until mon to call. Is this a problem you folks have been seeing?

    When I typed in the serial number, the system at that time said there was no record of it, I am home and looked up my paper work ( I scan everything into the computer ) and I sent in the registering info, and the paper work for the lifetime maps at the same time which was 02-25-2013.

    Have scanned copies of everything including the envelope it was mailed in, and have up dated the 720 maps several times, and the dock has everything correct. Will just call in mon morning.

    Question? Is the white screen a thing you folks are seeing a lot of?

    And if so, what is causing it?



    This unit is on 13 hrs a day, and 5.5 days a week.

    If you were able to update the LTM's this means you are in the system. I don't work the RMA side, but can easily verify if you are in the system or not.

    PM me your name, E-Mail address, and the serial number off the back. I can verify for you tomorrow. Saves you a phone call.

    I have only heard of the white screen once, so I suspect a hardware issue.

    We have a TND 510 and this morning we turned it on and everything started up fine then it said can't find GPS then we could turn it off or get any buttons to work. Then I pushed reset and it went black. Now it is showing the orange charging light but will not come back on at all... I tried connecting it to my laptop and that didn't work and I have tried pushing the power and reset at the same time... What next?

    Let it set unplugged from any power source for about 12 hours. Then charge it on AC for 3 hours. Try to press the reset and on/off for about 10 seconds to see if it will come back to life.

    720 and the white screen.

    I have been doing research the past few days on this. If you have a 720 and you do get the white screen, contact Rand Support. I am understanding this is a DC cord issue. You do not have to RMA the 720. CS should issue you a new DC cord.
