I had posted earlier about my $500 paperweight. I was not saying that the product was bad or RMN had 'screwed' me. I honestly thought I would have to stand the loss since it was not a 'defect in product or workmanship'.
Well I have to tell you, RMN stepped up to the plate in a BIG way and has replaced my unit at absolutely no cost to me. This speaks of a truely class organization in my book. Service after a sale and how a company backs up it's products is paramount to quality.
I wanted to post this so people hear the outcomes of previous posts on this forum.
Thanks to Mark and RMN for handling this in a truely professional manner.

Now and then my TND 700 stops showing my speed and the speed limit. I actually like the clean look/more map. How can I keep the speed limit/my speed boxes from ever showing? Thanks.

i actually prefer to have my speed shown. i look at my gps more then i look at my speed. plus i have it set to warn me if i get 3 miles an hour over the posted speed limit. Although with all the construction going on it seems the speeds are off alot but thats fine. it works most places.

I was just updating my GPS and had a idea for a new feature. When it actually updates some files on the GPS would it be possible after the update is complete to say something like "10 new POI added 5 new construction zones 4 new truck stops added" so we actually know what its updating? i like to know whats being updated. i try to read the little writing below the progress bar but it goes so fast i cant. Then also if it doesnt add anything just a window saying "no new updates found".

    Mark Kling Thanks this.

Have not posted any real news about my experience with the TND product for some time.

I have had a TND700 unit for about 6 months. It was loaded with the most current OS version when I got it (1573)

The unit still has a number of quirks that have been posted about before. The things like routing past exits only to come back to them. Nothing really new here.

For the last couple of months the unit will only work when plugged into a power source. It acts like the battery is dead and not charging.

What I noticed first was the settings would not hold. Due to the incessant yammering of the witch, I always run it with sound muted. Every time I turn the unit on, it is not muted and need to reset it. The volume is also having the same problem. I run it set down to the lowest point.

I have also noted some inconsistencies with the avoid setting. The only one I have set is tolls. When having it calculate a route, it does not seem to see parts of roads that are NON-toll vs toll. In Albany NY, it wanted to route around the city instead of across on the NON-toll roads. The planned route went from a 15 mile across town run to a 53 mile round about way. So I ignored the witch.

In other areas, it just plain will not route any other way than on toll roads. NJ and PA mostly.
I have had it route on toll roads in Houston, TX. A few times in OK ans KS as well.

I sent the routing issue back up to Rand. If the battery is not holding a charge then we need to replace the TND.

    Thanks,
    Mark

Business 34 through Chariton, Iowa. 13 foot bridge. 700 tried routing me
under it again. Learned last week that my truck didn't fit. Did not damage
anything as I didn't know if it was true or not just scraped top of exaust
pipe and I backed up and called 911 (company policy in a sticky situation)
to help me back down street and get turned around.

Please look into it as I am a trucker that has to go to many small towns to
    deliver to $Gen.
    Thanks

I fired mine up the other day (500) and it did the same thing with the volume. Mute was taken off and volume was set to 100%. That's not good for default settings.
