In looking at this 720, it does power up on AC. The DC cord will have to be replaced. This was after a generous amount of magic fairy dust was sprinkled on the 720 before I turned it on.

Note for everyone... the 7" does run a HD screen. Make sure you are using a 5vd/2amp DC cord. If you use a 1amp, the screen will go blank, white, lines, or just quit because you are not providing enough current.

(No magic fairy's were harmed in the testing of this 720).

    Thanks,
    Mark

My 720 doesn't seem to like to stay connected to my W8 phone's wifi.

I don't know if it's a compatibility thing, or if I just got a bum unit.

What security setting do you have for the Wi-Fi on your phone?

    Thanks,

Probable 1-time glitch, but possible erronious restriction:

heading west on i20 in tx, stopping at exit 406 pilot -- it had no issue getting off on the correct ramp and going across the overpass. However leaving the pilot & still heading west, it wanted you to go east on i20 to the next exit & then loop back rather than just cross the overpass and turn left.

Try this. I know about the IPhone if you leave the hotspot screen, the Hotspot drops. I tested with my phone and an app that tests for Wi-Fi signals. If I left the IPhone Hotspot screen and went to the main screen the IPhone Hotspot drops.

You might try this. Leave your phone on the Hotspot screen and see if the 720 stays connected versus going to the main screen on your phone and with the 720 connected..

The encryption supported by the TND720 Wi-Fi card is limited to TKIP. (security mode WPA Personal TKIP, Basic Rate to 801_11b\g compatibility)

    Thanks,
    Mark
