Customer support is not open weekends. A lot of companies that offer tech support are not open weekends.
The updates would have been version/POI updates. The maps you have on that unit would still have a valid license. The license does not expire unless you had a Demo License, which you should not have unless you were a current/prior tester and the current testers have a valid demo license.
If you are getting the Maps are over a year old message then that is just a reminder your maps are over a year old. If you have 710 then you can still purchase the map updates from the RM store.

Mark

Your issues with the 710/720 seem to stem from the Power issue. You stated that your connector in your trucks outlet seems to "jiggle" out. This alone will prevent power/current to the TND which in turn will cause what you are seeing on the device.
I would suggest taking a plastic fork and using a couple of the tangs and slide between the DC outlet on your truck and the DC plug on the power cable. Cable ties work well also. The forks are free though.
All trucks are build different and each year provides different parts. But, what I have seen is the main truck outlet that the driver uses is a cigarette lighter and that outlet is much shorter in depth that the ones in the bunk.
