Depends on what size your data plan is. I do the regular updates and such and it doesn't make a big dent on my plan but mine is pretty large- read expensive.
I am using the phone as a wire card/ internet connection. Planning to install the dock software on a laptop. Just worried about the size of the download.
This is from the Rand McNally website
Hard Disk Space:
At least 8 GB
Which would exceed my data plan by a good bit.
Just do the updates and stuff on wifi.
Usually around 200-400 mb... On the back what model does it show on the serial number?
Ah,, you are trying to install the Dock, not do an update. I would wait till you got home and on high speed internet.
Thanks for the reply.
Unfortunately no high speed internet at home. Just cellular data plan. Suppose I could try McDonalds or Lowes wifi as was suggested earlier in the thread.
You would be awhile... Anyone you know with High speed internet?
Searched manual didnt see how to put on hold trip while pulling into truck stop ,using rand mcnally 710
