The map update lifetime is like $90 bucks I have an issue with this for 2 reasons.
1st I originally bought my rand McNally for about $500 bucks, about 6 months later it took a crap on me, I traded this one out for another new one and again about 3 months later it crapped out, traded it out for a third time this time for a display case model and have had it ever since, not too sure how long these things are suppose to last but a buddy of mine has like 6 of these dum dums we call em (all rand McNally) and for some reason all his take a poop too.
2nd since I am not sure how much longer it will last doesnt seem logical to pay for unlimited maps when I may need to buy a new one pretty sure the one I have now is about 2 years old, battery in it is just about dead because I have to have it on the charger all the time. When I buy a new one the unlimited maps will come with it.
Anyways thanks foryour help and time in this issue. -
The price you paid tells me this is a older model. Probably a C or E model. LTM's are not available for these models.
The maps I am running are not available for production yet. Still in testing.
I am glad you found that the shortest route is a better route. You have to play with the settings to determine the routes sometimes.
Thanks,
Mark -
the problem we or my friend is having with the 510 is they crash and won't turn back on, yes he has done reset time and time again but for some reason when they do will work for short time and crash. -
As far as the battery... have not seen a 510 with a battery issue... most likely the charging ckt.
PM me..
Thanks,

Oh that could be too. I just seen they seem to always show up near a big city but the red lights are normally in big cities so that makes sense.
