My TND 720 will not connect to my pc and my norton anti virus said the dock update was a virus and deleted the dock exe, so now can't install new dock as unit will not connect, help.
It says either usb device not recognized or software not installed properly, this is the first time its done this since I have had the unit.
Thanks
John

You did not clarify if this was a new computer or not.
Disable the Norton Antivirus during the install or set the Antivirus to mark the Dock as safe.
Make sure you use the same USB as before.
Connect the TND (off) to the computer, then power up the TND or to "force" an USB port, turn the computer off, connect the TND (on), then turn the computer on.
Make sure the power settings on the computer is not in Eco mode. The 7" units draw more current than the 5" and in Eco mode you do not get full current draw.
Make sure you are connected to an 2.0 USB port. Some of the newer Mac's for example that have the 3.0 ports do have issues going backwards compatible. I have not heard about this for the TND's, but other devices if you Google it.
Thanks,

Should I just delete the whole TND folder and start over as if it was a new unit????? Definitely something screwy going on here.
Yesterday connected tnd, launched dock, dock said it was updating, anti virus went into tizzy claiming update was virus and nothing worked after that.Last edited: May 21, 2014

Disable your Norton for about an hour.
Start the Dock again.
See if the Dock updates.
If the Dock has an issue updating or does not start, let me know. PM me so I can remote in and fix your C:/.
If the Dock updates, then try connecting your TND's. You may have to press the reset button if it does not see it.
If they don't connect, try another USB cable.

Ok here a dumb question....
i finally was was going to break down and buy a new 7" rand but......the truckstops all show them for $319.00 dollars ok fair enough.....but.........here comes the spoiler alert.....
why do an $80 dollar rebate? I mean really? If it was actually p/u right now out of store for $319.00 plus tax I would get it today....but nope......one needs to spend the $399.00 today then wait and wait for what like 4-6 weeks to get $80 dollars back really?
isnt this just a gimmick hoping that drivers will buy the units and either they don't turn in the rebate or maybe the rebate gets lost in snail mail.
why not just sell the things for $319.00 and be done with it? -
Because companies know that most people won't turn the rebate back in so it increases their profits.
Lowa3468 Thanks this.
