It is a promo.... easier to attach a rebate form than to do all the paperwork in the chain from sales/dist/store to change a price point.

    Thanks,

HELLO I have a 720 and i am having problems with it..I have called RM 3x and did'nt get my problems resolved...My first and bigist problem is my 700 dosent reconize my weight or hight...for example i live in MA and i pull heavy equipment...i resentley tried to set a rute to down town boston and it put me in the tunnel and told me to get off at x24 Goverment Center...i was set at 14'6" high and i was 13'10" wide the tunnel is 13'6'' not good.....so i tried to detour the road and it sent me down Storrow Drive witch has 10' bridges...realy not good ...I called RM and the person was usless he said he would make a report to tell rand...I stated to him that i thought this problem was only in my unit because there are a lot of trucks that use the 720 and every day there would be trucks in the tunnel or hitting the bridges on storrow drive wich was built in the 50s as a car only road.all he said is he would sumit the form..I am also having the problem of the address beeing on the oppiset side of the road..and most receintley loosing satilite reseption....I am a little dissapointed that i spent this amount of money and i have to use a 2nd GPS because i can not trust my 720...and i havent gotten servise from rand..sorry for the long post any help would be great i always update my unit on the dock and every friday i put it on the house charger for the weekend...thanks for any help in advance

I am verifying the restrictions on those routes. Let me see what GIS has to report.

Which addresses are you seeing that on are the opposite side of the road? And which direction are you coming from.

Sometimes the Government moves the satellites and this will affect your reception. You can verify this by going to Preferences/General/GPS Status - Look at the DOP on the right side. It should be < 2. You can also look and see what is Used/Seen. Usually the Seen will be low and the DOP will be sitting at 60 or greater if the satellites are being moved.

Customer support would have to submit to GIS the restriction issues. They cannot see the raw map data.

Have you done a Map update lately? You can PM me if you wish your serial number off the back of the 720 and I can verify if you are set up for Life Time Maps (LTMs). If you are then great you should be able to download the latest maps, if not, I can have the DB corrected so you can.

    Thanks,
    Mark

Mark I have a TND710 and the power cord broke at the plug that goes in to the unit. I changed over to USB plug and the unit would come up but the screen was dim. when you unplugged it it would brighten back to normal. I tried to then connect to my computer to run diagnostics on it and it will not boot up now. I tried the reset and 24 hour wait. do you have any other suggestions?
    Thanks: Yogibear

The 7" units require 5vdc/2 amps, the USB plugs do not push 2 amps. So, the battery will try to charge and try to run the HD screen at the same time.

Suggest leave off for 12 hours, then plug into AC for 3 hours to recharge the battery. Press the reset and the power button and then see if it powers on.

Don't think anything is wrong with the software, you just need to supply proper power.

    Thanks,
    Mark

Besides, I wonder how many people.

Forget about the Rebate, or don't send it in time..

:biggrin_2551:I bought Rand McNally TND 720 couple months ago and I have come up with an issue of that my top right corner back arrow and help option is not working.
Is anyone of you familiar with this issue and how to solve it? I tried the reset button on back but it doesn't help.
I have contacted the customer support for help and advice, still waiting on response. :biggrin_25512:

    Thanks...
