Two questions: the start up tips mention a stylus... where is it? It's doesn't seem to be in a slot on the unit.

And when the machine sets up a route, what's the easiest way to select a portion of the trip and change the route? For example, with Google Maps, you can drag a point in the route to a different road and it will reroute.

Where is this setting? I want to turn off all HOS timers if possible,

If it is a 520/720 then none, the 510/710 it is on the back of the bracket.

Reset your timers to 8/11/14/70 under Truck Tools/Timers, then go to Preferences/General/Update Driver Status - change to Main Menu Buttons. Note - this has be updated in the next released version to a new addition for that "one stop shopping".

    Thanks,
    Mark

So here is one of the truck stops I mentioned that has bs routing leaving it. The TA on I44 in Springfield, mo exit 88. It wanted me to take a left out of the truck stop on MO 125 and add 8 miles to the route, not to mention the secondary road and town, instead of getting on the interstate right there..

    Mark Kling Thanks this.

Thanks, Mark, I guess what I am asking, how do I disable the OS features entirely with the 720? I use the Qualcomm for HOS, I don't want the 720 interrupting the screen with HOS info. :biggrin_25525:

Post 7460 has that. For right now that is the work-around. The next update will have a added button for this.

    Thanks,
    Mark

    Presents!

Routing 80 eastbound to Love's in Salt Lake City, UT:

The 720 wanted me to take exit 117 & go 10 miles out of route. As soon as I got towards the stop sign on exit 118 it corrected to a shorter route, but it was still 2 miles longer than necessary.

Routing eastbound to Bosselman's (AMBEST) in Grand Island, NE:

Why does this thing not like direct routes?

a road atlas if its been awhile through that neck of the woods

cog and tell rand might help on a future update.. trucker tested

Mark asked for examples of the 720's routing issues, so I was providing a couple I ran across today.
