They will be part of the update on the 17th. BUT NOTE - your download times will vary by your connection speed. Allot at least 6 hours.

    Thanks,
    Mark

On the AC charger it should take 2-3 hours, on a DC it could take longer. I have seen 4-6 hours to charge via the DC cord.

    T5E is a good model.

    Thanks,
    Mark

This is just an observation that I made after a few days of playing with my TND 700. this is the first truck specific GPS unit that I have operated but I think my hypotheses would apply to all truck specific GPS's. I get the impression that the routing of the maps is just basically a NavTeq standard car routing map with the truck specific restrictions overlaid. In other words someone at RAND McNally(or Garmin) took a navteq map opened up an atlas and went through looking for truck restrictions. The reason I say this is that the unit keeps taking me down state and county roads that are illegal for the weight that I have. In Minnesota to travel with an 80,000 pound load you have to be on a minimum 10 ton axle weight road. A lot of the roads, state and county, are only rated at nine tons which means the maximum allowable weight is 73280 pounds. If you look in the atlas this is not listed, which may explain why my TND 700 and keeps wanting me to go down restricted roads. I have entered the weight in truck tools at 80,000 pounds. Some county roads and some state roads are at 10 tons but a lot aren't. This could be a potentially serious problem for someone not familiar with the Minnesota road system. Just an observation. Any comments?

It is more involved than opening the MCRA and looking for data. MN places a weight per axle and the TND looks at gross weight. Rand is looking at how they can adapt the TND to fulfill requirements such as MN.

    Thanks,

Well mark I followed your directions and deleted the files and tried to reinstall tnd dock after removing it. When I reinstalled off of the TND 500 the dock came up with an error and would not open. So I downloaded the tnd dock of the net and tried that.. The tnd dock of web opened fine but stil says the tnd 500 is not connected..

Looks like the software or something is messed up on the sd card.... is there a way to download the software..

Also Had to get a new GPS for my student driver last night and thought I would try the NuVI465T since I already have the TND 500 well going to return Nuvi as soon as I can get the TND fixed Or I will have to upgrade to the TND 700

Thanks Mark just need to get TND500 running again I really miss it

    Has your TND connected before?

I need to see a file off your computer. On your computer monitor, in the bottom right, is a small icon (looks like a snowflake). Mouse over, and then right click and exit.

Then go to your C:\logs folder and send me the last few days of your logs. The log for the current date will not have a date behind the extension, but I do need the current log as well.

    Thanks,
    Mark

Is the 500 Still being produced and updated?
I have no need of a giant 7 inch screen but don't want to buy something that is obsolete.
    Thanks.
