Try getting a plastic fork and break the tines off it and jam a couple in the plug and it should help it stay.

    Yes on the legal.

It has been brought to the attention of RM that if you pick Route 2, upon powering on it should return to Route 2.

If it is the DC end of the cord,,, take a tang off a plastic fork or cable tie and slide between the DC plug and connector.

    Thanks,
    Mark

When it recalculates because of construction coming out of Delaware it some times completely chooses a different route to get to Columbus, Oh. I had to switch to manual recalculate and wait till I pass a certain point before it takes the route I want.

In RI I95 exit #5 it won't take a direct route to the TA truckstop because of some weird restriction programmed. This is one example of avoiding direct access to a truckstop. There are a few truck stops it does this.

If you are on the same route it should not recalculating, unless a roadway is different. Does the construction take you around or a different way?

TA on latest maps (not published yet)

You keep mentioning about latest set of maps not yet published. Any indication that you can give as to approximately when it will be available? Also, I know you cannot say much about this, but is a newer TND coming out soon ( my 720 is starting to bite the dust, is out of warrantee, and I would like to have some idea as to whether or not to replace with another 720, or wait a bit)?

I will have to cover both in one statement... until RM releases publically then I cannot post anything on dates of future maps or newer models.

What is going on with your 720?

    Thanks,
    Mark

Call Rand Tech Support - tell them you have a faulty vehicle charger, they will send you a new one free of charge. That may solve the issue. On mine, one of the silver spring things on the side (no clue what they are called) got bent and loss some tension. Over time it would wiggle its way back out of the lighter. Got a new one and no issues since.

The screen on my 720 will, on occasion, freeze up, start to get faded colors, then vertical lines will appear on the screen. Then it fades out and then completely shuts down and cannot power on unless the reset button is pressed.

This is after you have a green light? Have you charged on AC to see if it does the same? Might be a power issue on the DC cord side.

    Thanks,
    mark
