One example of a recent route was from Marshfield,WI to Arlington,OR. My unit is setup for the fastest route and instead of putting me on 94 it had me on 12 for almost the whole way. After a few hours I stopped and checked where it was going to send me and did a right turn for the interstate.
It was one small town after another and a million stop lights. Streets and Maps puts the trip on Rt 12 about 3.5 hours longer then going I94.
Just an FYI -
I always check the route it is sending me on against a map.
Many times I will go the route I want and allow it to catch up as I go. I just watch the arrival time go down every time I make a turn.
Many times it is correct, sometimes it is not. I guess after having it in my truck for 11 months I am just use to it's issues.Mark Kling Thanks this. -
Thanks,

Filters do not work when looking for a travel center that has a truck wash. It shows ALL places as having truck washes. Even the little Mobile station that has 1 diesel pump.
I stopped at 3 truckstops this morning. Two Flying J's and a T/A that were suppose to have a truck wash. NONE!
My guess is that filters do not work on anything? -
Heading to LA area from Ohio, and once I entered Aridzona on I40, my 500 suddenly decided it wanted me to take I17 thru Phoenix to I10 instead of the shorter and faster route of remaining on I40 to I15 and down.
Mmmmmkay, so I hit the detour option on the exit for I17, the route down I17, and every time I detoured one section, it reactivated the section I told it was out of the question.
Well, alrighty then, pulled into the rest area just east of Flagstaff to check the routing with Streets and Trips to see if maybe I've spent 17 years going the wrong way. As soon as I stopped in a parking spot, wouldn't ya know it, the 500 recalculated the route, and put me back to 40 to 15.
Difference in miles to my stop: the I17 scenic detour, 548 miles, I40 to I15, 477 miles.
I almost expected a popup box to say "JUST KIDDING" LOL
My second issue with TND: Trying to find a specific store, etc with the POI search menus is not fun. It would be very nice when looking for a store along my route to be able to specify the name of the store I'm looking for. Yes, before you say it sir, I do realize the TND is NOT the Yellow Pages, but when I want to catch the next Wal-Mart, Gamestop, Target, etc ALONG the route, I have to scroll thru hundreds of stores, teeny tiny stores, to find what I want. The Quick Stop option is fairly useless, as it is basically a shined up My Truck search. Adding a simple box that says either type the name of what you're looking for when you get into the other menu, or select a catagory would save a boat load of time and aggravation. Then, if its not in the POI list, yeah, I'll grab a Yellow Pages -
hello mark i just bought the tnd 700 an wanted to say hello an have a great week! thnx mike
Mark Kling Thanks this. -
Now aint that somthing meathead!!!!!!

Quick stop are for a few items, truck stops and Walmart. If you wish to find something when you are on the POI page and after you hit Your point of interest near,,, then click on more, all and then the spell button at the bottom in the middle..
Thanks,
Mark
