Add a little code that makes it search for wal*mart and it would work. That's if it recognizes wild cards.

You would have to do 2 Strcmp function calls which would result in finding
    "Wallcott Kmart". lol

I sort of thought you kept Quick Stops in separate POI files like Walmart and Petro then just searched for the closest Lat and Long. Oh well.

Nah, all this stuff is 3rd partied out. They make errors, Rand buys the module, the errors end up on the unit. Big headache. If they can make the unit a little smarter to sort through the 3rd party bs, it'd work a lot better.

I would be surprised if a 3rd party was involved. In half a day I can collect every coordinate needed for Walmart, FlyingJ, Petro, and all the rest. They all supply this information in comma separated format and many other forms. There is no need to buy this stuff, it's free and available.

kajidono, nice try, but wrong answer. The TND code is written for Rand.

The program is not moduled out. It is written and compiled each time the code is changed. If the DB's that are provided to Rand from truck stops, cat scales, WalMart, etc are incorrect, then Rand tries their best to find all the variables and add them into the code searches.

Rumors do not need be started please.

    thanks,
    Mark

I just purchased thr TND 700 the other day. A few times while driving I've noticed that the screen brightness will change to dim and back to bright during daytime driving. the night time screen stays dim at all times. Is this a bug? or signs of an impending issue?

Try this, when you see this changing of brightness, go to the main menu screen and look at the top about the middle and see if the battery Icon appears when the screen goes dim.

    Thanks,
    Mark

Bull ####. The map data is bought from Navtech and you told us that the POI info was gotten from some other company when I brought up the same problems he just did months ago. If you don't want rumors started, you probably shouldn't start them.

That is exactly what Mark is saying above. They do get the map and poi data from 3rd parties but the actual code to search these databases is written and compiled in house.
