No device/version is "finished" when it comes out.
It always have new version, new features or bug fix
Only my TV is a finished product when i bought it. My car had RECALL.
>>When I was trying to point out that this unit was unfinished , half-baked
the iPhone 4 is an example, it cost Steve Jobs $300 millions (a $30 free case * 10 million units sold) to make it fully cooked.
Rand is on top of Garmin and other Brands, they listen to our complains/feedback, fix / update for us though its great TND Dock application. My Garmin unit has no update yet.
Kokot has the points, by the ways, the Google map is not "free".
I had few wrong turns in may trips, Google map cost me the time plus the extra miles that i had to drive. Now I only use google for traffic display on my phone.
Mark, thank you for your tireless support.

Mark, could you have the folks at Rand McNally check the database for Minnesota. A lot of the roads (mostly County) that my TND 700 keep routing me on are listed as 9 tons axle weight. The last time I checked, in the state of Minnesota, 9 ton axle weight roads are limited to 73,280. I have my truck info set at 80,000 pounds and it consistently routes me up these roads. Being as I run regional here I'm aware of this problem but someone not from this area could get themselves in a sticky situation. It is very confusing because the signs only state the axle weight, they do not say a thing about gross weight. The only roads with an axle weight posting that you can legally run in excess of 73,280 are marked as 10 ton roads. As far as spring road restrictions that's a whole different ballgame. Thanks again!
Mark Kling Thanks this. -
Hey Mark, in Ardmore, OK if you try to head west of I-35 on US-70 west out of Ardmore the tnd700 says this US-70 west was weight restricted when its not. I have my unit set at 13'6 height and 80,000 gross. Sign posted for 43 tons on this highway. Is this fixed in the September 30th update?
Mark Kling Thanks this. -
i have to say mark has went above and beyond in his help with me trying to get a new 700. I messed the thing up after a botched update. I deleted some files and emailed mark back and forth. i bet we have 30-40 emails back and forth not to mention the 2 hours i spent on the phone with him trying to resolve my problem. he even went as far as to call the TA and try and get a replacement since i was having no luck with them after talking to the store manager, the bookkeeping manager three times each. He is one of the best support people i have ever come across. Most of the time if i even attempt to call a tech support i get a non english speaking person that thinks i dont have the common sense to power cycle the unit first.
I just wanted to say thank you mark for going above and beyond your duties as a support person. You do more then anyone else i have ever come across. If every company had 1 of you working for them the world would be a better place.
I think its funny how people expect everything to work perfect when they have no idea how it actually works. like electricity. most people know you flip a switch and boom the light turns on. they don't understand what happens behind the scenes to make the light actually light up but get pissed when it doesn't work every single time flawlessly. relax people. it takes time to fix stuff like this.Nodnarc, AFSTruckerswife, Chris6074 and 4 others Thank this. -
Has anyone had this problem? Was driven south on i-5 in sacrameto an my screen (map only) looked like a kid took a white crayon an scribbled all over it, (did this twice) then on another accassion on 210 in north la (ca) the screen went pink (again map only),,,, should i need to take back an get new one (tnd 700 have like 20 days left b4 my 30 days r up))) mark help!!!

Your guess at outside interference is a true.
I have noted that the unit is some what susceptible to that.
Cities like Phoenix, St Louis, Indianapolis and a couple of others cause major dysfunction of the TND.
Most notably in the areas around airports or other high energy transmissions.Dieselboss, hosss1987 and Mark Kling Thank this. -
The battery issue has not changed, still dead.
