Had to replace the hose. They got these on there some how. I couldn't figure out wtf to do so I used an angle grinder. Is there an easier way I didn't think of?
I tried to torch the hose and maybe get it to slide off,but quickly learned that the hose doesn't burn like I thought and the lip of the pipe would stop the band anyway.
Surely there's an easy way to remove these metal bands?

I use a dremel with a cut off wheel. I have more control with that vs the angle grinder.
-
That's interesting.
We used to use C Clamps with a screwdriver to secure the screw at the bottom so each one will be in place. Just needed checking occasionally to stay tight. (And maybe a little loctite to keep screw from moving) -
Blackshack46 and x1Heavy Thank this.

Pretty often on thick metal if you dont take your time.LOL. But with the dremel once you cut through the band you have less chance of going through the rubber and hitting the metal underneath.

I am puzzled, you talking about the black heat shrink band or the metal band on the silicone hose?
-
Metal band on the hose.

You do know why it is there?Oldironfan Thanks this.
