Hey everyone, I was woundering.. Anyone have surround in their w9? I have a little 100 watt 5.1 that ill be putting in.. And I was curious as to where I could put the subwoofer to make it effective.. I also would assume mount the 4 speakers in the 4 corners of the roof.. Now is that the roof before the cabinets or after? Just curious as to how yours is set up and how it sounds!

For starters, a subwoofer is omnidirectional. you can put it anywhere. But the 4 speakers, it really depends on where you're going to be sitting while watching tv/movies. One important thing is that the speakers be approximatly the same distance away. If you're in the bunk, you're not going to get a very good surround quality, because you a wall to your right shoulder and back. The speakers can't be evenly spaced. it'll improve sound quality over just the TV's speakers, but you'll have a hard time trying to get a quality surround.
Dark_Majesty_06 Thanks this. -
Ahhh.. Well my tv does the job just fine.. But its those nice background noises that improve the movie for me... Ahh well.. I just had a 130 watt system anyways.. Guess ill save it for my home.. Thanks a bunch there friend!

i have a rca 5.1 setup in my volvo 670 with table/workstation. most good surround sounds have independant volume control for each speaker or an actual setting for distance each speaker is from where you'll be sitting. works pretty good actually.

I have a '94 Ford van (11 passenger) . Since we don't have TV in the house anymore, I took my surround sound system and installed it in the van. 1 speaker in each corner, the center speaker on the dash, and the subwoofer on the floor between the front seats. I can plug anything that takes headphones into it and it sounds awesome!!!
To power the system, I have a little 300 Watt inverter that plugs into the cigarette lighter. Did I mention that it sounds freaking awesome?!?!?
Hi fidelity sound, redneck engineering!
