I always wanted to ask this question. I have never seen any drivers sweep out a trailer in the fuel island. A lot of times I have a tight schedule late at night. I wonder if there are hardly any trucks at the pumps, is it OK for me to get my broom and spend 5 - 10 minutes sweeping out my trailer? I don't throw debris out on the ground or anything. I just never seen any other drivers do this but I have done it twice in desperate times. During the daytime when traffic is higher and there are available slots for parking I just back in and do it there. However at night pretty much all of the parking slots are full but the fuel island is empty.
Sweeping trailer out at fuel island when traffic is low?

no, it's not ok to sweep your trash into the fuel island.
who wants to walks around in your crap. have some manners.
you could always go home and sweep your crap in your doorway.SGTSmokdU Thanks this. -
There are inumerable times when you can do this even on a tight schedule. When you pick your trailer up, drop your load etc. There are numerous ######## that do stuff like this every day please don't become one of them.

It wouldnt matter if there were 20 pumps open and empty, its never the time nor the place to sweep out your trailer in the fuel island. It makes us all look bad when you do things like that.
SAMMY6969, KMac and driverdriver Thank this. -
When I sweep out a trailer at a drop/hook I take a Walmart bag, broom and dust pan with me and start back to front. I just sweep everything to the front and pick it all up with the dust pan. This way the customer cannot complain I am sweeping out trash on their lot. With reefer vans it does become a little harder and more time consuming than dry. vans.

Read his post; he doesn't sweep the litter out of the trailer and onto the ground at the fuel islands.
Sure, pull up after fueling, then if another truck pulls into that fuel bay, tell the driver you're leaving and won't block him.scythe08, allniter and NewNashGuy Thank this. -
