If you actually read my post fully you would see where I mentioned that I do not leave a mess. If my trailer is really dirty I wash it out. But a couple of broken pallet pieces I sweep it and that is what I am talking about.
Sweeping trailer out at fuel island when traffic is low?

Why not, drivers park at the fuel island to eat, shower, go shopping and sometimes even fuel. The new breed of drivers have found many uses for what use to be just a place to get fuel.

Nash i see nothing wrong with it as long as you dont block anyone or dump trash into there parking lot. some may not like you throwing the trash in there canisters though. not saying you do. there are other solutions to this though. if the shipper/receiver wants you out of there lot but pick up an empty there i would still do what is needed to the trailer before leaving. it be like them telling you that you cant pretrip the trailer,(i truly hope you do pretrp trailers before u leave) they cant legally. No matter what you still have to clean it out so its not costing anymore time doing it there but does cost you more time if you have to stop elsewhere to do it if its not a scheduled/planned stopNewNashGuy and DirtyBob Thank this. -
IMHO--no reason to do it at fuel Island--and almost NO reason to ever need dust pan--I just back up to the Dumpster late at night(after it is all at rear--and sweep it in the top--even had the nice(yeah I know)flyin hook mgrs unlock the fence around theirs--course usually after they say no--and I say no sweat i just sweep it out into the pkg lot! LOL

If im ever in a situation at night where I cant get a washout I just go to the shipper with a dirty trailer. When im at the shipper they will either not care if its a little dirty, let me sweep it out on their property, or give me directions to the nearest washout. If those options didnt work then ill shut her down which means I would be in a parking spot where I could sweep it out and I still wouldnt have the need to sweep a trailer in the fuel island.
NewNashGuy Thanks this. -
Now sleeping...eating....peeing....shopping....yup....got those.... -
1) Sweep the trailer out at the receiver.
2) Go to Blue Beacon and get a washout.
