With Swift, we make our own problems more often than Swift makes them for us.

Agreed, I'm sure I annoy the hell out of them with calls and macros when I'm having a problem but better that then not communicating.
I always try to remember to fully communicate and keep Swifts customers my top priority.
Strange I get better loads and more weekly mileage if I don't ask for loads. Run hard and the planners will run your butt off.

Swift helps those, who help themselves ... If you're a whiner and a sitter, Swift will let you sit and whine.

Keep up the good attitude whoop. I try to establish, what I call micro-relationships with everyone I speak with. When ever you get by your home terminal, make a point of meeting with your DM and make contact with anyone else that you've worked with ... over time it will pay dividends.

In over 4 years with him, I've only seen my DM 2 or 3 times.
My next load is t-calling in Otay Mesa around the 12th, so that will be a bust. He isn't there on the weekends, and I should be long gone by Monday. Bummer. I'd like to see him again, and meet the other 2 in the pod.

Whoop, did you go to school in Corsicana?

I was at orientation in Lancaster 5/11? I think that was the start date.

My experiences also have been great. Although I went a different direction with the dedicated account.

I'm home every weekend, and busy sun thru Thursday night.... And I'm backing a trailer 2-6 times a day.

This gig has been a great score on all levels.

as much as .51 short haul and added 25- for under 100 miles, not hard to make 1000 if you keep the truck rolling. I think I should be getting more miles and making more. I guess im still learning how to do that. Or maybe the new guys dont get the best loads.

I've been grossing around $1000 a week as well and I've been with Swift about as long as you.

One thing I've learned is to not take the appointment times Swift tells you too literally. My current load was supposed to pick up at midnight yesterday. It was around noon, and I was done with the previous load. I was 35 miles away from next pickup. I went on over there.

I think they got my order ready because I was there, because I only had to wait a couple hours. And I'll probably get to my final early, even though it's listed as a live unload with a firm appointment. If they make me wait, so be it.
