How many of you who are driving for Swift actually obtained your cdl training at a Swift academy, rather than a private cdl school? Isn't Swift's total training hours for their cdl graduates 160? I have read some past posts where a poster stated Swift required cdl holders to had to attend a school that provided 240 hours. Maybe a recruiters giving out bad (or false) information?
I am getting a little nervous about applying for Swift's school. January 13, will be over a year from my car accident and that "failure to maintain control" citation. Two Swift recruiters both stated "it should not be a problem after one year if no further citations, etc., in the 12 months since", but from reading this and other forums, I just don't trust company recruiters to be honest. I don't want to attend a Swift academy, then apply with Swift just to be told: "oops, the insurers won't allow us to hire you because of that accident." It evidently does happen on a frequent basis. Okay enough boo..hoo'ing.
Swift academy grads still with Swift?

Both my husband and I attended Swift's Academy and we're still with Swift. My husband's 2 year is this month, mine is April.
The Challenger and biker dave Thank this. -
I "graduated" from Swift's Portland, OR academy when it was open. No, it wasn't closed because of shenanigans. It was PTDI accredited. It was closed because UPS made an offer for the property that couldn't be overlooked. Apparently, the property was worth more to UPS than the school was to Swift.
I left Swift after a year, was gone for a little over 2 years and here I am, back with them now four years into my driving career. In fact, the guy who was the lead Backing Range instructor is now my DM. Hand picked by me.Buckeye 'bedder, The Challenger, biker dave and 2 others Thank this. -
I attended Swift Academy this past July. I have been solo 3 months now. My driving record and work history for the past 10 years were spotless so they were quick to take me. Since this is my first driving job I have nothing to compare to Swift but I haven't any big complaints so far. I thought the Phoenix Academy was stellar, but I was in the last class before they changed the schedule to 7 days a week. I doubt that made a difference in the quality though.

*blinks* I went to the Phoenix Academy 2 years ago and it was 7 days a week then.
