3.14: Got her number? I know I would like to talk to that attorney about some of this cause I feel strongly it's unfair to us to have to deal with this. I can not rest and tonight, I'm expecting the heat to be so bad, I wont even get any sleep. if you want to stay in touch please email me or msg me on yahoo or PM a MOD and it will get forwarded to me, Thanks so much.
Yeah Swift is bad about not paying break down even, they made me sit in Memphis term last weekend I was there until they pulled the truck from me and decided they wasn't going to pay me breakdown pay due to the fact I had a preplan for a load that I couldn't pu anyways due to no loaner trucks and my truck was suddenly retired at like 430k miles that day, so that morning around 2am I had to ride into Dallas with the shuttle guy to pu anothjer truck from our Dallas terminal. I couldn't believe that but iut happened.
If I had to do it all over again, I never would have came here to Swift. I don't recommend them to outside drivers, nor do I train for them, as being a Mentor as they are called, don't allow you to be paid for the miles a student makes you after they get off your truck... unreal. The company is falling apart if you ask me.

a good idea would be to record all your phone calls
-
make sure to document everything. -
Here's an idea; Notify the media and stay after it until someone takes an interest. In all probability, a Swift, Werner or some other driver will die because of this nonsense and some light can be shed on these abuses.
######## and moaning about it here will do absolutely no good. Be proactive and get something done!!AnotherFool Thanks this. -
I'd like to know more about apu's only lasting 24 months.
I have never heard that from any mechanic, be it manufactor trained techs, or independant techs.
Maybe they are talking in the terms of trading the truck in every 24 months, and having to remove the apu from said truck, and putting it on a new one.
Perosnally, i'd be looking for a company that has apu's on thier trucks, or a easier idle policy.
Why don't you call your states Labor Board and ask them. -
"At least if you get fired you can collect unemployment"... ONLY IF you were following company policies! You have to understand the rules for getting unemployment. But you can try. Just remember that trucking is down about 30% and it took me 6 months to get this POS job I have now!
But as someone said earlier, OOIDA is who you need to talk to.
Also Idle Aire is tax deductible so keep those receipts! -
some states are also giving companies grants to put APUs in their trucks I know that Wisconsin recently gave out over 1 million dollars to some companies in the form of grants to put APUs on their trucks.
-
NOTE for the UNWISE: While they might not be able to deny your claim, they will TRY. Expect your claim to be held up for 5-7 weeks until someone at the unemployment commission makes a decision. Then you'll get a lump sum payment. -
Also be sure to file AS SOON AS YOU ARE FIRED! Don't wait a week or two but the same day you get home! I waited 2 weeks after I was let go from that POS job I had during my last post (8/7/09) and it only became effective 3 weeks ago! Get on line to your states unemployment site and start the process and also head down to DFS(Deptarpment of Family Services) and get those food stamps going! I'll look for those youtube posts tomorrow!
That BS about those APU's lasting 24 months is just that BS! At least the Tri paks and others are great and maintenance is great also but Rigmaster is a POS! Oil changes every 100 hours! What a laugh!
