    Knight owns Swift.

God bless every American and their families! God bless the U.S.A.!

The absolute sheer driving force of our national economy - without truck drivers, our entire national economy would come to an absolute standstill - if not outright be dead.

Over the mountains, through the woods, into the valleys, coast to coast, from sea to shining sea - truck drivers can and do go anywhere and everywhere, every day, every night, all year round.

I think this is a really good point and hopefully I don't offend by following that rabbit hole a little bit here..

Just thinking about the mechanics in a shtf scenario during the first era of it: dollar bills as a measuring device take a lot of friction out of trade. People know the price of everything reflexively but I guarantee 99% of any person you randomly ask can't convert the price of say a gallon of milk into gold.

I'm not saying I know how it would play out but I also strongly believe later down the line gold would certainly fall into its historical role as money.

And going back to the beginning phase I've read somewhere that the way gold is most often used when shtf is in the form of jewelry because it's the easiest form to cross borders with.

All in all, if you plan on surviving for an extended period of time you should have gold.
