Well, dag blastit,
I had put in an app last week with Swift. They called a few days ago and asked many questions about criminal background. They must have found something they did not like because the recruiter called and said they could not offer a position. I only disclosed stuff that shows up on a State Patrol background check. If I disclose everything you might need several pages or a small book. All that crap is several years old, more than 10 years.
They use a company called HireRight for background stuff so I contacted them and they will be sending me that report.
So, it's down to the last company that said they will take us.
Good ole CRE.
Don't quite know what to think about all of it.

rondroid Thanks this. -
It can be 30 years, they'll find it if they want to...........Luckily it was before the bus ride !!!!!!!
road dust Thanks this. -
For those that don't know, HireRight = USIS = DAC
Another year has started so they should be changing their name again soon. -
By you not disclosing any of it,no matter how long ago it was, they probably feel you were trying to hide something, and were not honest up front with them, hence the no hire.Be honest, you'd be surprised.

You really need to watch out when filling out applications online. I applied for a company and they asked if I had been convicted of a Felony in the past 7 years, then one day I get a letter from HireRight showing me a 31 year old Misdemeanor conviction. Then came the phone call asking me why I didn't report it on my application. As you guessed, NO HIRE. So watch out!!!

Most applications ask Have you ever?
If you tell them they can work with it. If you don't they figure you lied -
Let's see, did I crap my pants 13 years ago?
Hmmm, I can't quite remember.
I should be getting that stuff from HireRight soon and after reviewing it maybe I can make corrections to my application or if there are errors I can use our family attorney to get it fixed.
Thanks for all the input, Ron
PS: This battle will continue. As far as I'm concerned this is war. -
Be careful filling out applications. Read all instructions, Follow all instructions. The application is a legal document.
If it specifies a time frame use that as the time frame. If none is specified then the time frame is for ever. "Ever" is from the point when you are born until the point you fill out and sign that application.
Keep in mind that the little skirmish you had with the law 10 years ago might not be so minor in the eyes of the trucking industry. -
