I did and I very much appreciate it I just want to look at every option as well as I can, I don't like job hopping. I worked at UPS from 17 to 37 and I'd like to find somewhere for the next twenty years. I called a bunch of juice and fruit haulers in Plant City like you suggested, I pretty much got told by everyone to put a year in at a starter company and then give then a call. I'm thinking Tampa truck driving school is where I'm gonna go, the community college is probably a better course but it's 12 weeks of short days and I would rather power thru and get it done a lil quicker.
Swift.......as a starting company.

That was someone else that recommended the juice haulers; I remember the post though.
Tampa Truck Driving School is a good choice.FlaSwampRat Thanks this.

	And it is.
I was just cautioning against trying to do things too quickly.

It takes some time to actually get into a position to see what it is all about. Which is why I mentioned a year before you move to another area.
One year, or a bit more, will show you the good and bad, the fast and slow times, the ups and downs of any job.

It is for your benefit, as much as it is for the employer, to give every position that you take a fair chance.FlaSwampRat Thanks this.

On your other thread; Freymiller, SRT, CFI will reimburse the tuition you paid to Tampa Truck Driving School back to you.

. I'm vested and out, I really don't like what the company has become. It's hard to work somewhere before the shareholders destroy it and still like it. I had a great time there and learned a lot but it was time to go. I've made my money so now I can do something I've always wanted to do and that's give otr a shot.

I was going to suggest UPS Truckload division, thinking that even though it was a separate entity, your tenure with the company would be appealing I would THINK. But if you want away from everything brown, there goes that idea. Don’t overlook LTL gigs also in your area. Estes and R&L and Saia all have “system” runners. You’ll be out getting the OTR feel and in a hotel every night. More and more LTL companies are taking new drivers like yourself and helping them get their cdl’s. Best of luck in whatever you decide!FlaSwampRat Thanks this.

Dude, the fact that you have a CDL makes you look like a flake. Relax,
Swift was my second trucking job. If you want miles and money look elsewhere. They use dashcam and it will make you crazy. That and the short hauls have killed the company.

I make a lot more now but I enjoyed swift. They make everything easy.88228822 and FlaSwampRat Thank this.

Any of these run out of SE Florida?

Unless you're tired of wearing brown socks, why not put in for the UPS truck and trailer side?
